Uvena Prime rebuilding up

December 31, 2011

A reporter of the Galactic News visited the planet Uvena Prime, now enjoying the peace.

After the depart of the main troops of the Revenant Armada and the Hutt from the Uvena system, the locals are in the process of creating a provisional government. One of its known ministers, Toshai Kylvik, in charge of the foreign affairs, discussed on the state of the system.

Toshai Kylvik

Thanking the Galactic Liberation Alliance (GLA), Mr. Kylvik stated the space on and around Uvena Prime is now safe from hostile forces. There is still pockets of resistance on Uvena Prime but nothing serious. Many foreign troops helped and are still present. The GLA and the Jedi promised to leave on request, but the government voted unanimously to leave them a permanent outpost. Because of the procrastination of the Republic during the war and the perceived confusion between their institution, the Uvena government decided to not apply to the Republic, although they consider the troops  which aided them as heroes of the war. The mandalorians come and go and are welcome on the planet as long as they cause no trouble. Many of the the former resistants joined the new planetary militia, as the government doesn’t want to be dependent of its allies.

Beside of this, the rebuilding process started, replacing the devastated area of the occupation and the war. New dwellings for inhabitants are being built and cultivated farmland are growing faster than expected, which the Jedi attribute to Master Marcus Moreau’s sacrifice.

Landscape in Uvena Prime

The Shistavanen received assistance from outsiders, like the contractors of the GLA, or the medical supplies from the mandalorian clan Socarras. They are still raising founds through several donation accounts on the holonet, like the Uvena System Relief Fund. They are collecting both credits and goods, especially food and medical supplies for the moment.

The Foreign minister wanted to thank, in the name of his people, the outsiders for “the help that was, and still is rendered” to them. He also warned against the Sith, their followers and armies, which are “pure evil, even when they try to appear peaceful.” and recalled “They murdered so many here. Killed children.” He wished they will have no safe port, even if the government is not making any retaliation plan against their former occupiers.

The NRGF was and is pround to have supported the efforts of uveena prime and it’s people. Captian Zach rodchester has also asked that the people of uveena prime it is foolish and wrong to mourn the dead…rather we should thank the force that such men and women lived ((a modfied qoute from genreal patton))

I wonder why GAR is not given any thanks due to the fact we also came and gave support to Uvena liberation during the campaign. Not only that, many of our troops were captured and beaten. But, it is another victory for the republic. Maybe another step towards ending this war. The flame of hope continues to grow, Hoorah.

GAR was counted in the Republic forces.

You must remember Snooper that even though GAR is separate from the New Republic that GAR will normally get lumped with the rest of the allies of the New Republic since we all represent it to one extent or another. I would very much like to know what for procrastination was done in part of the New Republic though since from my own recollection that seems false.

As I told Miss Kira in the interview, I believe, as do most of my fellow Shistavanens, that the individual warriors of the Republic are heroes. However, GAR forces were recalled from our world on the second day of fighting, leaving expected reinforcements absent and resulting in many Shistavanen deaths. Several days later, an NRGF fleet was apparently delayed by recall orders from the Governor of Tython, resulting in even more needless deaths. I was also informed that the GLA’s Commander Lawson sent a request for aid and explanation to the Chancellor’s office and never received a reply.

These are the facts as I understand them. I admit to some confusion as to how an organization called the Grand Army of the Republic claims to be separate from the Republic, however.

(( Just going to post OOC. Not really sure if your character doesn’t know, or if you don’t know OOC. The new Republic fleet group. I believe it’s called New Republic Grand Fleet or something? Anyway. They were recalled, with a lot of confusion. The recall wasn’t approved, but the NRGF retreated anyway. GAR, along with other allies, stayed in the sim and continued the fight and RP. ))

The Grand Army Of The Republic recalled? I honestly have no idea what you are speaking of. We fought against them, Yes I know of the events with NRGF. Except GAR continued to fight for Uvena.

((NRGF was called back but GAR never called an order like that like everyone thought))

“Once again it seems that my words hold true as indeed the only faltering was done by falsified claims of a recall of troops. Those whom retreated under the supposed word of a Governor should have ignored such orders since they were not his to make. Never-the-less, it is good to see that this conflict was still won in the name of the Uvena Resistance, and not the occupying Armada. We shall always see casualties in war; no matter how terrible the loss is; those losses shall not be forgotten from years to come for those whom truly believe in fighting for freedom.” – Supreme Chancellor Altus

(( I’m informed of what happened, OOC. 🙂 Yes, as I mentioned in what you replied to, the NRGF was recalled by the Tython governor, though some of them stayed to fight. GAR was in fact called away on the second day of fighting, according to the troops who were stationed there. We weren’t ever informed of who gave that order. As we are not fans of retconning on Uvena Prime, that was worked into roleplay, even though we expected them to be back the following day (which they were), hence the statement of some heroic members of GAR staying behind to help with the fight.

The recall of NRGF not being approved but it happening anyway is exactly the point of what I wrote, and why the Shistavanens don’t trust the Republic – confusion, the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. ))
