Tiffany Vandergraff-Imari commented the last event preceding the collapse of the Kathalon Protectorat, caused by the renewed and the worsening of a deadly civil war. At the beginning the project to reestablish a government was apparently progressing smoothly. The gang violence dropped and they sounded like cooperating while a semblance of order was restored. However the gangs consolidated into a major crime syndicates and started to rearm secretly at a greater extend, at a point, missiles with neutron bomb warhead were discovered in a weapon cache. Meanwhile they started again territorial wars, pulling resources to get hold of more and more weaponry. The first bomb explosion was spotted early thanks to the Imari naval presence, this allowed the evacuation of a substantial part of the population before the final collapse. The refugees were able to escape without much incidents, although some transports issued anti-ship fires. The planet Velmor, home of Tiffany Vandergraff and seat of her corporation, welcomed some of them.

Being aware the Galaxy “is headed to a place where it will no longer be war, but slaughter” and “Factions must tread (very) lightly at the moment”, Miss Vandergraff conferred with the Valmorian Republic on their membership to the New Republic. Although they still have apprehensions about the Republic’s policies, particularly some of the policies toward force-users and the military, they applied and are about to elect their first senator.
