Strange Happenings on Tatooine

January 18, 2012

On Tatooine, reporters Daana Kira and Danrick Shadowstarspoke with locals about recent happenings and were informed of a rumours and other strange incidents.

Mos Entha, target of the attack by the Tuskens

Mos Entha, Tatooine: While in Mon Entha searching for leads, GNN met up with Ryder who has been helping oversee the Tusken problem there. He stated that while several groups are protecting the city against Sand people attacks, more and more rumours about their behavior are popping up. The most recent being the sighting of the Sand God.

The Sand God is reported to be a giant Tusken Raider who is causing fear amongst the Sand People themselves. Most recently, a local had claimed to have seen this “Sand God” fight with a group of Tuskens who gained strength from this entity though they were scared of him and were motivated to defeat those they were in the fight with, with only the eyewitness escaping the slaughter.

Ryder however pointed out that the single eyewitness was drunk at the time of the re-telling of the story and his claims couldn’t be substantiated. He felt that these rumours of a “Sand God” are a deliberate attempt to hide what the Tuskens are really doing. Ryder believes the Tusken Raiders don’t have a goal themselves, but are being manipulated by an outside force, though didn’t have a comment for now on who might behind the scenes.

However, what can be substantiated is that the Tuskens have recently been arming themselves with newer and more modern weapons. It’s unknown who’s providing the equipment or why, but their bases have turrets, and they themselves have newer ranged weapons. Ryder stated that he did see a non-Tusken near the fort speaking through a holo-transmitor to a female about a drug shipment. Ryder was unable to gain any information at this time only relating the oddity of such a person near a Tusken camp without being spotted.

Finally, Ryder stated even more groups have come to help against the Sand People attacks, He’s also witnessed and heard that several Jawa clans are joining together no doubt fed up with attacks on them as well. He believes its only a matter of time before they join with other Mos Entha defenders such as the Mandalorians and local forces.

Ryder ended with this bit of wisdom for others “Everything will be all right in the end. If it’s not all right, then it’s not the end.”
