Hapans Continue to Strengthen Ties With the Hutts

January 22, 2012

On a trip to Nar Shaddaa, GNN reporters Daana Kira and Danrick Shadowstar were able to speak with Ayeka Kel, the daughter of he Hapes Consortium’s Queen Mother.

Nar Shaddaa: After finishing and interview with the Hutts, GNN was lucky enough to speak with Ayeka Kel of the Hapes Consortium. Miss Ayeka Kel is the daughter to Yori Kel and head of Hapes Security.

Ayeka Kel, security chief of the Hapen Consortium.

Is her role as security head, she has to determine possible threats to not only the Consortium, but also to its allies. Currently she was in talks with Jengaz the Hutt about posting a bounty on a Jedi of Dantooine. The hefty sum (a sum that should be easily attainable from the Hutts or the Hapans) is paid up on the live or dead capture of the Twi’lek. The reason for the bounty posting is that they obtained information that the Jedi was plotting to go up against Admiral Abyssus of the Revenant Armada, which is a strong ally of the Hutts and a friend to the Hapens. It probably doesn’t help the Jedi’s case that she is also not on the good side of the Hapans, but she’s been declared a serious threat to the Hutts and their allies. There was preliminary negotiations, but they fell through when the Jedi would not change her stance that the Sith needed to be destroyed.

For the most part the Hapes Consortium are not seeking an alliance with any Jedi or the Republic even though in the past they had been strong allies with previous incarnations of these groups. The Hapens believe that the Republic has no future and are trying to ally with strong factions to extend the influence and power of the Consortium. However, they will deal with individual Republic worlds if there is a benefit to the Consortium. With strong ties to the Hutts, they hope their economic base is extended and made more stable increasing the standard of living of all Hapens.

The Revenant Armada as previously mentioned has also become a strong ally. In exchange for access to the Hapen shipyards the Revenant provides protection against pirates and also helps rehabilitate Hapen inmates. Miss Ayeka Kel stated that so far they have an impressive record on the rehabilitation of criminals, who after serving time as a productive worker go on to live a life as responsible citizens.

Ayeka Kel also denied rumors that there was a new head of state of the Consortium. She explained that her mother was still Queen mother and ruler of the Hapens, and no other position had been changed either. The Consortium is strong and table. She was also pf the belief that not only does the Hapes Consortium, but the whole galaxy has a very bright future.

the young Chiss looks over the article and raises a brow “why does Hapes care what happens with the Hutts considering they consider anyone that isn’t a Hapan female to be lesser. also, wouldn’t they have issues with Nar Shaddaa being so dark, given that they’re blind in anything less bright than blinding light?”

    • January 23, 2012 at 12:40 AM

You know her and the hapans? I think not, if you don’t know their history don’t rush to make judgements.I know Ayeka, i met her in a republic planet,i talked with her a long time and i saw her fighting.
My advice is to know the person first and then drop conclussions.!

(well, to be fair, the Hapan Fleet actually has historically been powerful enough to pose a serious threat to the New Republic if I remember correctly. so it’s not too much of an exaggeration)

((Hapan Battle Dragons featured a unique dual saucer-shaped hull 600 meters in diameter with a central core connected by sixteen rotation support struts. The ships were armed with forty ion cannons and forty turbolaser batteries affixed to rotating circular sections on the top and bottom hull plates. To compensate for slowly recharging weaponry, the disc would rotate to bring fresh guns to an enemy while the previously used guns recharged their capacitors, which the Hapans viewed as a more efficient use of firepower.
In addition to the rotating weapon emplacements, Battle Dragons were armed with ten proton torpedo tubes, tractor beam projectors, dorsal- and ventral-mounted heavy triple ion cannon batteries and sixteen pulse-mass mine launchers. Each Battle Dragon carried three squadrons of Miy’til starfighters or T-65 X-wing starfighters in onboard hangars and a battalion of 500 troops. The ships required a crew of 1,200 and 190 gunners.))

I see here yet another brilliant example of the “Hapan diplomacy”. I remind we tried to discuss with them in peace, although before we had the time to say anything, their henchman welcomed us with something like “you’re not yet dead?”, then a half naked shrewish chick, posing as their boss, shouted angrily all over, mixup up the puzzled members of our delegation.

Basically, they act more as a street gang than system leaders and I doubt the Jedi really have to care of.

((I don’t mind they changed the politic of their system. Actually, due to the Revenant Armada influence, their story may be similar as Empress Teta’s played few years ago. They appeared In Character to Salene as poor diplomats which I rendered in the previous comment. It’s in no way a judgment out of character on their background or playing style))

Well since hutts have no gender to speak of, I hardly see it being an issue. That being said hutts are well know to make deals, with people that they believe can bring profit to hutt space. Ayeka is not the only hapan, as it turns out.
