Jedi Academy opens in Uvena Prime

February 12, 2012

Reporters of the Galactic News went to the opening of the Uvena Jedi Academy.

The Jedi Academy Hall

A Jedi Academy just opened in the planet Uvena Prime. In the opening speech, the foreign minister Toshai wanted to demonstrate the gratitude of the people toward the Jedi during the liberation of their world from the Revenant Armada forces. The minister believes such an academy will be a benefit for all. It is located in ancient underground rooms, rediscovered beneath the mine network inside the mountains.

The Jedi fit several facilities within the structure: library, dorms, training rooms, etc. For the opening, the Jedi Mikori Lawson and Kyrain Rhandt welcomed the visitors, offering them a tour. Mikori explained they want to provide a training with more demanding standarts than in some other places where Jedi are promoted too early. The Jedi should be able to handle the problems by their own and the knight of this academy are expected to have accomplished several missions. The Jedi primary responsibility is to help the others throughout the Galaxy, according to Master Mikori, and training new Jedi “both ensure a better future for all of us, as well as learning a great deal ourselves as we instruct apprentices.”

The Library

The academy currently have a small number of students but they don’t search for numbers, preferring improving the quality. The training should be dynamic and can be different for each student, as long as they reach certain standards. The Jedi of Uvena Academy are not going to build a new Order of Jedi; they perceive, according to Master Moreau’s word, it would be divisive. They consider themselves simply Jedi.

-laughs- i was so much expecting you to comment on my words. I just had the feeling that you won’t stand it to shut up. My dear jedi, my visit on Uvena Prime was for a political topic, but that isnt business for a narrow minded jedi like you. And if i was there, i took a look at this event, and i gotta say it was enjoyable…

I suggest you to hold your sharp tongue, otherwise, you could cut yourself with it and would be….sad. Oh yes, political topic, i find interesting that gangsters are interested on politics. Oh sorry, you call yourself business people. You called me”narrow minded jedi ” so i will call you a monument to crime, theft, piracy and anger.I think is characterising you very well. Despite of the fact you are young, my dear, you are rotten to the core .

-smiles friendly to the jedi- my friend, thats a stereotype, that leads to racism. Just because the Black Suns and the pirate clans are aggresive and so unfriendly, it doesnt mean that the Black Nebula is. “theft and piracy”, funny words from a citizen of the republic. You should realize that your mighty Republic is just as “rotten”, if you call it this way, as the hut space. But the hutt space allows it officially and calls it business. The republic allows it but unofficially, and calls it crime. Even though, the Black Nebula doesn’t deal with businesses that are illegal in the selected place. If the republic tries to arrest or accuse people in hutt space for dealing legal business, it would be considered an offensive act. I hope the republic doesn’t want to cause a war, do they? “i suggest to hold your sharp tongue, otherwise you could cut yourself” focus on your lesson, you just don’t want to attack an innocent person and fall the darkside, do you? It would be so sad…

and what, pray tell, would you know about jedi? you, who spout on about hwo you know everything about EVERYTHING. how about you go off and start your own group of people that listen to you, aruetii. as for the order on Uvena…I trust them to be actual Jedi. people that practically died out when Marcus died. they’re probably the only real Jedi that exist anymore.

Mando’ade represent an honor-bound culture that do what they say. no double meanings. you on the other hand, represent a tradition of di’kute that can’t decide if they’re force users or Mando’ade. and who do you embarrass really? yourself. you embarrass yourself with your ignorance.

Just because it is on a Hutt world does not mean the order is Hutt Controlled. The hutts sell land and buildings to anyone because they are interested in making profits, not as much as political games between Sith and Jedi.

      • Master Kyrain Rhandt
        February 13, 2012 at 10:04 PM

Uvena Prime is no longer a planet under the control of the Hutt Empire. If anyone recalls the war that recently ended between the Hutt Empire, their allies, and the Resistance. Which consisted of a band of Jedi, aswell as local civilian shistavanens, aswell as other republic based factions. They would know such things, sadly news doesn’t spread that easily anymore, even with a holo-net accessible to nearly everyone with a connection. I am here to say, the Uvena Prime Jedi ‘Academy’ (Not order) is not controlled by the Hutts, nor is the planet itself. The Revenant Armada and other Hutt allies were forced to retreat. The war was won, and now the Shistavanens are free from the grip of Tyrants, slavery, and death.

      • February 13, 2012 at 11:00 PM

Indeed. The Hutts gave up the planet to its rightful owners, the Shistavanen people. They are ingenious businessmen, after all, and they came to understand that retaining the planet and continuing to enslave its people would be far, far more expensive than any profit they may gain through continued subjugation of the natives.

Well, Jedi from Dantooine arrest sith for just being on the planet… Yavin Jedi all have unsightly hair all over their bodies… Onderon consists of… Two Jedi… I think. These guys make it hard to be ‘simply Jedi’.

Just for clarification, the man in dark robes was not a sith. Many call him Jaren and his alignment with the force is rather neutral.

    • February 14, 2012 at 7:33 PM

His alignment with the force is clearly dark. We exited the academy to find him assaulting another man. When we questioned him if you recall he was quick to run off. Yeah… his alignment is very neutral Master Kyrain.

      • Master Kyrain Rhandt
        February 14, 2012 at 7:58 PM

I’m unsure of how you can tell of such thing, you’ve only came into contact with him for a brief minute or two. Rather then the few years I have known Jaren…simply because he portrayed a sense of anger means his alignment is dark young one? Also how are you so sure that he was assaulting…and not defending? Master Lawson, yourself, my apprentice, and I were not present for the beginning of the situation. Please young initiate, think before you choose to speak, and make such presumptions. I haven’t known Jaren to make attempts on lives for the years that I’ve known him, his personality is rather unique however not dark. Rather neutral.

  10. February 14, 2012 at 8:32 PM

As I recall Master Kyrain, you were quick to defend the man and say he was of peace… but at the moment we sought to let him in, we find him out fighting. Surely if your friend was not dark aligned and truly defending us as he says, he would not of been so quick to run off. Something to hide I presume?

And please, do not refer to me as initiate. I have left such a title with you & Master Lawson on Uvena.

    • Master Kyrain Rhandt
      February 14, 2012 at 8:45 PM

Once again let me remind you I have known the man for years, his reasons for leaving so quickly I’m unsure of. However the man he skirmished with ran off before him…mabye it was to catch him for questioning. I suppose we will not know until I have a simple chat with him, he won’t refuse my summoning. As for your leave I was disappointed to hear of such, however life goes on, I trust that you will find a path more suitable to your needs. The path of the Jedi is only for the very few who can handle the difficult training that holds many restrictions, and rules that must be followed, along with the orders of an apprentices Jedi Master, and other senior Jedi. Jaren may had portrayed anger during our encounter…but that doesn’t make him entirely dark, nor does him running off without saying a word. Presuming such is rather ignorant, and ignorance is against the Jedi Code if I may remind you. May the force be with you young Aelus.

  11. Lord Renthar
    February 15, 2012 at 12:11 PM

If ignorance is against the Jedi code, why do you restrict the full learning of the force? There are several things your numerous orders are ‘in the dark’ about.

    • February 15, 2012 at 5:06 PM

They Jedi Order’s fear what students can become. They are so scared of the dark-side they limit not only themselves, but students such as myself. These orders that call themselves Jedi would rather sit and meditate in a corner while people suffer than face and stop the issue.

I respect Master Kyrain and Master Mikori, but it is them who have the learning to do. A title means nothing of a persons capability. There is Students everywhere stronger than Masters around the galaxy, and they have more knowledge. Master Kyrain, about my departure also, I apologize for it being without any word or advice… but i’m sure you can understand a extended period (( 1 month OOC time )) before I am even told of the force, or taught how to fight is idiotic. (( I also don’t understand how you all claim canon yet at every turn you’re imaginary. The fact Initiates were being trained in the force, and combat (see the Jedi Temple falling and the young man trying to fight those storm troopers while using a lightsaber and the force) is totally thrown aside with your so called “best jedi order”)).

((Because your post is very much split OOCly and ICly, I’m replying OOCly, this is not the place to bitch whine and moan because you don’t agree with an Orders requirements for training, take your bile elsewhere, go and join an order where you become a master in 2 weeks, but don’t expect anyone to take you and your supposed position seriously, there are those, like myself who spents months oocly as a Padawan before becoming a Knight, and it just so happens that Master Mikori was my Master))

    • February 15, 2012 at 5:56 PM

Learning the Dark side is not learning the Force. The Dark side is nothing but a corrupt shortcut to power that, in the long run, robs its users of their potential, their freedom, and their very souls. The hatred and fear that are essential to properly harnessing the Dark side also blind its wielders to the true power and enlightenment that the Force can grant.

As Aelus points out, Kyrain and myself both have much learning to do. The older you get, the more you realize you have to discover. Aelus Starstorm has a lot of potential, and I hope he finds a way to realize it without being drawn in by the Dark side.

(( And I’m not sure what we did to earn that sort of bile from you, but I do still hope you have a good SWRP experience! ))

  12. February 15, 2012 at 2:22 PM

The possible powers and abilities used by darksiders and those who corrupt the force to their will shouldn’t be anything to toy around wtih. Especially by a apprentice, student, or even a Knight for that matter.. Once a Jedi obtains and harness’ a great deal of self-discipline they should be allowed to research and learn ‘about’ the abilities that the force holds, however not use them. It is merely a restriction, not ignorance.

*places her data pad down for a moment after reading everything on the holonet. After a bit she decides to say something.*

I have been watching what has been said from everyone. I find it mildly upsetting that an Academy opens and instead of finding good things to be said there are squabbles about the minor things. The Uvena Academy is a rigorous training program. It’s not for the feint at heart. It requires dedication, loyalty, and most of all patience. I think that most places forget about that last part. As Jedi we learn that patience is the key to many things.

As for mention of the man in the black. Jaren is and never will be a normal man. He does defend when he needs to and the man he was fighting was pouring of dark side energy. We all have our moments of giving into our emotions but that doesn’t always mean that we are of the sith.

May the force guide you always.
