Jedi Set Up in Orto Plutonia

February 26, 2012

Reporters of the Galactic News Network visited the new Jedi Temple of Orto Plutonia.

Kato Reykan and Liu'orn

A group of Jedi installed their temple in the snowy planet Orto Plutonia. Their leader, Kato Reykan and Liu’orn are coming from different sides of the Galaxy looking for “a Jedi order that respects the original Jedi code”. Not finding one as they wanted, they finally left Bakura to create their own Jedi Order in Ordo Plutonia. They said having seen Jedi in luxury and being rich, while they should live in the poor, in a “life full of codes (and) prohibitions.” The almost desert and harsh environment they elected will suit their expectations.

Although, they expect Ordo Plutonia will join the New Republic. Its membership will allow rich soil to be exploited. The Jedi refusing to become politicians and having little contact with the native Talz people, they would turn to the local mining industry to represent them to the Senate. A mining investor, Serenity Jeriamas, is considered to become the first Senator if the application is accepted.— Daana Kira, Rakiko Lowitde

It’s rather funny how many Jedi Orders start up because no one else follows the code.

Its rather judgmental for another Jedi to assume nobody else is following the Jedi Code and that they are doing it the ‘right’ way. Jedi need to be focused on serving and defending the people not if other Jedi live up to their definition of the word. As far as this “Jedi in luxury and being rich” Outside of maybe Onderon I have seen nothing of the sort.

Whats even funnier is that such Orders are started by Jedi who just sprouted out the ground as well, I sometimes wonder if such Orders are created as a fast path for someone to call themselves a Master, and simply use such excuses to cover up the real reason.

Sad as it is, many are drawn to the fast path and it often shows who’s training has been rushed when you compare such people to Jedi who have spent a considerable amount of time training to become a Knight. There are many Jedi Knights out there with as much experience and wisdom as so called Jedi Masters.

Not to make any for-judgement on the mentioned Order in this article, however I do have one bone to pick. As a Jedi of the NOJ, I do have this to say to the Leaders of this new order, you have not once stepped foot on the NOJ New Hope, if you had you would see we are not living a rich and luxurious life. On the same topic, you have never trained with us and therefore can not possibly say we do not follow the Code.

Now as I said I’m speaking on behalf of the NOJ, but I’m sure there are other Jedi Orders who can say the same in regards to your generalization of every Order but your own.

May the Force be with and Guide you

Oh here we go, another person of these old failed orders attempting to spread his wisdom for all to see. Your wisdom of being a Jedi is so strong that there is more wrong in this galaxy than good. Not to mention, I’ve never seen or heard of a NOJ Jedi on any planet I’ve visited doing anything….

      Hmm…

Oh sorry, and you are exactly?

How does my level of wisdom influence the amount of wrong in the Galaxy, pray tell?

You have obviously not been around very long otherwise you would have heard of the NOJ, and you certainly would not be calling the oldest standing Order (In SL), of which many other orders such as DJE and KOJ have splintered from I will also add, failed.

The NOJ has been travelling throughout space aboard it’s Praxeum ship after Ruusan was left temporarily uninhabitable because of an incident regarding the Force Nexus that once resided there, which would go some way to explain our recent absence from the story lines, however a few Jedi from the NOJ played their part in the Liberation of Uvena.

I would hazard a guess that you base a groups activity on how often you see them in the news, so I am hardly surprised you have not seen or heard from us.

And If I remember correctly, you had some bile to spill about lengthy times to train Jedi, specifically the Academy on Uvena. With this in hindsight, I’m hardly surprised my comments provoked a response from yourself.

You should do your research before you start to openly insult someone on a Galactic wide channel, especially someone you know absolutely nothing about.

        May the force guide you

If you have little contact with the native people how could you expect Ordo Plutonia to join the New Republic? Does this mining investor have contact with the locals? If not I’m not sure if he would be a good choice for Senator. Hopefully he is doing this to try and service the people who live on the planet and not just to increase his own profits of the mining company he has invested in by using Republic resources.

well here’s a small misunderstanding. First of all, the Talz are not natives, they are immigrated. Still, these immigrated species are surprisingly primitive. The natives of Orto Plutonia are the narglatches, and they are non sentients

So these Jedi think that more codes and prohibitions and cutting themselves off from the sentients the codes tell them to protect is the way to be true Jedi.

I give them 2 weeks till the Sith wipe them out. that or 2 months before they like most of the orders become irrelevant.

((In reply to Aelus Starstorm. Perhaps you should take the time to get to know the old guard. We are not an old failed order. We are the oldest order in SL. Others have come and gone and failed but we are still around. Most of the orders that start up are using either the original training that was created by our council or the updated training we did a year ago. Our training supports others to branch out and build their own orders and share and spread the training. What we do not support are people who walk into swrp and call themselves “Masters or Grand Masters” who have little to no training and do not know how to train others. It takes many many hours to develop training. I met with several padawans from other orders in the last month and they had little to no training other than self training. Correct training may take many months, not days or weeks. Patience is something that all jedi must learn.))

(( Hey man, good post. I’d like to talk to you ingame about it, if you want rather than continue OOC here. My post towards your failed order was IC, as OOC I do know you all are a long standing order. ))

((that’s why our order’s padawans will get trainings well enough and we won’t just forget about our padawans. And i agree in the topic with NOJ with Grant, though lately i barely see any of them around…))

((By default comments on the board are taken IC unless they have the “(( ))”. Not everyone knows this, that is why Xan felt the need to mention it. I do not think he ment to offend at all))

((I cleaned up some comment going too far. Per courtesy, tag your comments IC/OOC clearly. Assume good faith when people referring to you, your group or your faction. You’re free to consider people you believe talk bad IC of your faction without being member are uneducated profanes.

Remind this blog is about roleplay, not about being Jedi, Sith or reporters. Player may have a different approach of playing their characters. Feel free to contact them and play with them, or maybe give them tips if they accept them. Just void blunt statement “your character/group/faction fails then I’m going to kill you” 🙂 ))

(( I believe Daana has led you astray. This report has been severely edited and boched to look like the OPJO are nothing but a stupid group of fools. I have Anonymously been sent an chat log by someone near by and saw all the questions and answers that were given. Let me first start by saying when they said “life full of codes (and) prohibitions.” they were reffering to embracing the true code and they had no discriminatory remarks about the jedi living in luxury. In fact they settled on Orto Plutonia because their cruiser was rendered ‘dead in the water’ with the hyperdrive and sublight engines knocked out by a electro magnetic space storm. It had nothing to do with living in luxury. The living in luxury to being poor purely meant to express a metaphor where in reference to location they were coming from to one they settled in. I urge you to give this group a chance as i cannot tolerate ignorance and slander from people who think low of others trying to rp in thier own creativity. Please keep the RP environment an enjoyable experince for all. – Agent Marc Rhommel {Phantom Operatives} ))

    ((live long and prosper ^_^))

    • February 27, 2012 at 10:21 PM

((First if you want characters watching the news listens your interpretation, you shouldn’t not tell it OOC as they have to ignore it. Second you look like inspired to found out undertone or hidden intents where there is not, at least from our part. The article, or any other, is not to present a group as stupid as you pretend.

The “Jedi living in luxury” (and also, not reported, “Jedi in politic”) stance was the answer a question asking how other Jedi would not follow the code, and “a life full of code and prohibition” how they should do as Jedi. I’m not sure how a cruiser dead in the water is related to the interview, there was no cruiser or wreckage visible on the sim and they have not talked about any. They said setting up on Orto Plutonia after a travel, looking for a good place for them.

Your interpretation and its development is not based on the questions/answers we had, but on an different context or personal believes. Maybe your “anonymous” informant blotched the logs, who knows… As I said in an above comment, you have to “assume good faith” from your fellow players. Like you, I cannot tolerate slander myself.))

Goodluck to my fellow brothers and sisters of the force, trying to uphold the old ways of the force. May they prosper and find peace where they now call home. It is a pleasure to have another order in the large family that is already here. Even though I believe that we shouldn’t have any more orders pop up.

We have many amazing orders already established. But it is up to you and I wish you all the best.

May the force continue to guide us all true and keep us safe.
