March 4, 2012

Reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide travelled to Bengat after receiving word that their was important issues to discuss.

As the resort planet of Bengat is still waiting on a vote by the Galactic Senate as to the status of their membership application, the queen Suiko of Bengat has fallen gravely ill. Currently she is in the care of a local hospital, though expert medical teams from around the galaxy have been called. However, the cause of her illness or a possible treatment hasn’t been determined yet.

For now Senator Ta’kara has been named governor of Bengat to continue the government duties of the queen and make sure the local political environment stays calm and runs smoothly. These duties will be in addition to hers as Senator if Bengat is voted into the Republic. Plans are also being put into place if the Queen is unable to return to her duties. Also Jedi Master Kyrain Rhandt is acting as advisor but no other cabinet members have been named.

Local security officer Kasha is confident that things will continues smoothly and that current peace that Bengat enjoys will continue. Like everyone else, she’s waiting on a holovid being prepared by the Queen to explain the full ramifications and how Bengat will ultimately continue.

they plan on making a holovid with the poor woman while she is sick? I think there are priorities higher then making a holovid here

So if the queen is able to better inform her populace and thus the galaxy about what the ramifications and proceedures behind this are,she shouldn’t?

Nice logic there…specially with all sorts of idiots giving a senator control of running both the planet’s affairs and representing said planet in the Senate…I think all the clarifications possible so people don’t assume this is some sort of coup and consolidation of power, the better.
