DoR cause important damages on Dantooine

March 31, 2012

Reporter of the Galactic News were present during a Sith attack in Dantooine.

Dog fights over Dantooine

Dantooine: The Jedi Enclave in Dantooine (DJE) suffered an important attack from the Sith of the Disciples of Ragnos (DoR.) Two of our reporters were present near the Temple. The Jedi were warned shortly before the assault by one of them trusting a datapad to the enclave before he died from his wounds. The full content of the datapad was not yet analyzed, it might contain more informations on the reasons behind this attack. The Jedi however didn’t have much time to be ready while the fleet of the Disciples of Ragnos was announced in the system. The Sith were unable to approach with their large ship because of the threat of an ion canon on the ground. Instead, they sent their fighters to control the orbit. After a long dogfight, they managed to disable the Jedi defences and bombed the ion canon. Then their troop carriers approached and the Sith landed, led by the Arch Lord Darth Sae’hal II.

The Jedi facing the Sith

Meanwhile, the Jedi prepared for the invasion on the ground, gathering in front of the temple and getting ready for the combat. Disciples of Ragnos and Jedi met in the meadow near the Enclave. After a long observation, punctuated with their declaration of faith, the fight started. It was brief, but the Jedi had the upper hand and neutralized the Sith troops. However, they were unable to take advantage of their victory on the ground; too many of them needed care and a Sith battle ship approached, bombarding the area. This gave to the Disciples the opportunity to flee with their wounded troops.

Sith escape, taking advantage of the confusion

The Jedi Master Sha’ira said the attack was bigger than when the Command Center was destroyed. That last attack led the Jedi to install the Ion Canons with the help of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). Dantooine was enjoying a relative peace since that time, and the attack was not expected.Dantooine’s government is expected to contact their allies of the Republic to reinforce the defense weakened by this attack. Several Jedi knights succumbed and the toll in the civilian population was not yet made. It is expected to be important because of the bombardments. The reason behind this raid is still unknown. It may be a limited action or a presage of a larger scale plan.

This horrible attack from the darksiders, Disciples of Ragnos made a lot of victims..Indeed. I could feel the anger and hate of the sith. They were clearly there to spread chaos, and destruction. Lady Mo’cha, Jedi Knight from Dantooine. She died, but fought bravely.. And saved many lives. May the force be with her.

(( The black ships seen more in the second clip, I’d like to learn more about them as even one of them smoking from an engine was capable of some pretty good maneuvers.))

Did anyone bother to ask over why before commencing to hostilities? Seeing the attacks repeatedly on Dantooine make one think it is less about supplies raiding as one would see with pirates such a matter is only their business, for the DoR it seems the value is more ideological or to be plain- personal rather than business.

(( The black ships that the camera was focused on at the beginning of the second clip is the HC-105A Longsword, built by me and scripted by Qitarah. The other ones, I’m not sure! The Longsword is available here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/HC-105A-Longsword-Space-Superiority-Fighter/2004401 ))

((thanks for the link on the longsword but, the one I was looking at was a bit heavier in size than the normal fighters, probably a DoR production, the purplish thruster flames and all of the smaller fighters with it slightly reminding me of the F-117 Nighthawk in RL-stealth bomber that got lots of fame in the 1991 persian gulf conflict. It seemed to handle itself well in spite of the longsword and Z-95’s firing at or near it. If nothing else it shows the skill of the pilot not to crash with that much engine smoke. If I’m remembering rightly it may be an RHVCS model from the Sandcrawler main store, I could be wrong there. When or If Q releases a retrofitting kit to the market for ships to have RHCVS I think it will do well, sim boarder warnings and the fact that with good aim you’re not completely defenceless on the ground from RHVCS.))
