More On the Endor Grey Jedi and Politics

April 22, 2012

GNN reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide were invited back to the moon of Endor to speak with future Senator Jebel Kinn.

Upon landing on the heavily forested moon of Endor, we were once again greeted by Arbitras Rexsus II, heading a sort of monarchy, and Vyres Yodan III of the Grey Guardian order. This time they were also accompanied by Jebel Kinn, who is not only about to reach knighthood in the order but also will be the Senator, if this moon is allowed membership into the Galactic Senate.

Mr. Kinn wanted to speak a bit more on the order and concerns that some of the Senators of the Galactic Republic may have. He first stated that yes the Grey Guardians resemble Jedi, but that they have a more “open-minded” stance to the use of the force. However this doesn’t mean that they will align with any group, most notably they would not align with any Sith order. Furthermore he explained that one of the reasons they wanted to join the Republic was to have even more protection from certain Sith groups and in turn would form friendships with other member worlds and serve the Republic.

As far as the group’s philosophy they follow neither the “darkside” nor “lightside”, but they prefer the teaching of the “lightside” and would aid or align with any light sided group. He further explained that Jedi would make good allies because they seek harmony whereas the Sith only bring chaos and destruction. Rexsus II explained that their main difference with the Jedi was that they focused more on their feelings when using the force and in battle may utilize techniques frowned upon by the Jedi. Through meditation they are able to see the force clearly and use the techniques without harm, but there use are somewhat limited.

As for his position as Senator, Mr. Kinn stated that he was elected by the people on Endor, many being human settlers who have come to the moon over time. As a long time resident of Endor, Mr. Kinn is only seeking to help improve his moon and hopes that the Republic can see past the stereotypes and look at what they have to offer. In his final remark he had this to say “I only wish to say that we are honest, and we truly wish to become a member of the Republic, so that we may serve the people, and the Republic can grow stronger.”

I think we should be a bit more trustworthy of the Grey Jedi. They only seem to be interested in assisting the Republic mutually, so accepting them should not cause any harm and only bring us aid in combat situations.

As a grey myself, I don’t see why they would be considered untrustworthy future citizens of the Republic however, I have some major misgivings of having a Force Sensitive running for office. If I were them, I’d look for a non-sensitive for the role of Senator.

There were a couple of concerns that I had but I have talked to the Monarch, Arbitras Rexsus II, and did suggest that he or a representative come speak to the senate. I do still extend this offer as there will be voting on Endor joining the Republic once more. I think that as Mr. Qenadius did state a non force user would be ideal because the Constitution it states in Article 3 Section 2 – II:6. Senators are not allowed to use their Force abilities during a Senate or GSAC meetings, except for matter of security. Then also right under that it states II:7. If a Senator uses force abilities for the purposes of security, he/she is required to answer to the Chancellor and the Senate, if requested, to justify their actions upon the risk of losing their status as a Senator. So please make sure your representative is aware of this. I know that there is another draft being worked on and I cannot state at this time if that will still be upheld.
