July 8, 2012

GNN reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide traveled to the planet Talus, where they met with the governess and several others to talk about the new trade routes opened to that system.

The capital city on Talus.

Talus: The government of Talus, made up of an elected governor and a ruling council, has opened up several star ports to incoming traffic from the opening of several space routes. The heavy populates system is home to several industries and this should be a boon to the economy in the region. Currently neutral in Galactic affairs we were greeted by several in the streets who were celebrating. In the midst of the crowds were able to even speak with some of the planetary leaders.

After speaking with some of the locals about their excitement to have new business come to Talus, we were lucky enough to speak with the governess herself, Lady Cataryna, as well High Council members Etherion and Snow. The expressed from the start that Talus was a peaceful world and along with their sister planet Tralus, which is heavy in natural resources, are poised to become centers of trade and diplomacy. The system they explained will always be self-governed though they do plan to have talks with other Galactic factions such as the Empire and the Republic especially on trade issues. Proposing a diplomacy first doctrine, Talus is none the less able to defend itself with a large standing military and several militias under the command of the High Council members.

Governess Cataryna speaks about her optimism of Talus’ future.

The systems itself is home to several businesses already, boosted by the mineral rich landscape of the sister planet, Talus is extending its arms to even more galactic trade, welcoming merchants, bankers, and other business sentient from around the Galaxy. Once here they will enjoy peace and freedom to pursue endeavors and a favorable economic climate. Also the systems itself hosts several tourist areas, such as the expansive forests outside the city as well as top-class entertainment within the cities, from state of the art cantinas to large playgrounds.

Talus has really thought out its position in the galaxy and government welcomes all to come and take part in the systems growth as it’s poised to become a galactic economic center.

It has been some time since any one has heard anything from Talus. It may be an interesting trip to see how they have developed.
