Hutts Enter Into Several Business Deals

July 26, 2012

Reporters of the Galactic News attended to the latest Hutt Night.

Several Hutt met in Nar Shaddaa, in the Black Hole Casino in their regular audience nicknamed the Hutt Night. This time, Lady Eris Astraea, the new majordomo of the clan Nasirii orchestrated the Ceremony. Belutric presided the Hutt, along with Shaka, Issulla, Jengaz and Nemo.

Marcus Destis

The first announced speaker was Marcus Destis, introduced as Governor of Corellia. He claimed the Queen Raz’iah of Naboo plotted to annihilate the Hutt of Nar Shaddaa to gain power in the Council. She would have attempted to gain the Death Watch, the Galactic Outcast and the Galactic Empire to her cause, although only the Death Watch answered favourably. He requested the help of the Hutt to stop her. The Hutt were reluctant to do anything and asked for evidence of this claims. No Hutt property was yet affected and didn’t want to make a first step breaking the business with Naboo. They asked if the man brought them gift to make up the lack of evidence, and he offered them a golden corellian helmet.

Sapphire Tafor and Draclyn, displaying the Terentatek cake

After he left, Sapphire Tafo, candidate Senator of Tython, and the attorney Draclyn were invited to talk. Sapphire thanked the Hutt and Lady Eris Astraea for their interest on her Terentatek Park project, where a living and ferocious Terentatek is expected to be displayed. She brought with her a large chocolate cake with a edible Terentatek figurine standing on the top. This appetizer pleased the Hutt which started to talk business. Sapphire Tafo explained she needed investors and expected great profit from the attractions.

Indeed, many of the Hutt, and some allied offered to invest in the park. Belutric, Jengaz, Shaka, the Black Dawn and more modestly Lady Eris Astraea affirmed they will fund the attraction, with Shaka even contributing to Sapphire’s electoral campaign, and Nemo would suggest the investment to Darmutta. They expected to receive reports of the progress of their investments, having confidence it was a good business. The Nasarii Enforcers were also suggested for the security.

Nawa and Tucker from the Persephone

Next, The Captain Nawa of the Persephone and Tucker Fitch his first mate came to offer the service of their ship to the Hutt. The Persephone is now the flagship of Ge’ta’s burgeoning company. The Huttlet, Ge’ta, expects showing his business skills enough to gain his place to the Council in the future. Meanwhile he offered caramelized eels to his elders. The Hutt appreciated the initiative of the young Hutt and foresaw him in the Clan Council.

Darth A’mira from the Czerka Corporation

Darth A’mira spoke on behalf of the Czerka Corporation which is currently seeking several rare ores and wanted to place a bidding for the contract, with a bonus if it’s fulfilled rapidly. She also wanted to invite the Hutt Council to the new meeting of the Confederacy of Independent Systems in few days in Pallas Athena.

Shaka who is in the mining business, will arrange a bid in the few days, and Nemo the Hutt was interested but needed to refer to Darmutta. The Hutt will also send their emissary to the meeting. Darth A’mira left pleased of the turn of events.

Afterward, the Nasirii Clan announced Kerrilastia was named ambassador to entertainment. She said they will resume Galactic Swoop Cup finale, featuring the top racers of the ranking. She also displayed the Cup trophy itself. She also recalled the upcoming Pazaak tournament in Port Retreat.

Next, Jes’tula sold Shaka a bulk of slaves, mainly Hapans, which he acquired by raiding a drifting ship in Ord Mantell space.

Lady Yuri Takashi followed offering Shaka to buy back the female Hapans he just acquired, but the Hutt expected another bitter show up before deciding. She also announced the void shard she proposed last time was won over.

The last speaker was the Acting Chancellor of the Republic, Tiffany Vandergraff-Imari, she talked about someone, not referring who, but maybe the former Chiss captured by Jes’tula Tor’dok which wouldn’t be in the Republic’s record. She also said an undetailed contract between Shakaa and the former administration would be honoured. The Hutt and their staff were very pleased of her presence and they exchanged courtesies until the end of the audience.

“Belutric, Jengaz, Shaka, the Black Dawn and more modestly Lady Eris Astraea affirmed they will fund the attraction, with Shaka even contributing to Sapphire’s electoral campaign, and Nemo would suggest the investment to Darmutta.”

Black Dawn is a criminal organization that attacked Tython once. A deal with them is legally questionable at best and grounds for a criminal investigation, at worst. Miss Tafo, you’re hunting in dangerous ground here. Ground infested with bloodthristy akuls. I strongly advise you to reconsider involving yourself with Black Dawn in any way, shape, or form.

I want to thank everyone for their contribution and their fine advice for this great project. Every efforts are turned to the prosperity of Tython and the profit of their benefactors.

Everybody need their chance. I’m sure if ever the Black Dawn had to pass to a trial for this alleged crimes, their generous gesture would be accounted in their favour.

Actually, the Republic isn’t supposed to take into account how “generous” the accused is during a trial. They are supposed to decide the case on other factors such as evidence, the nature of the crime, and what sort of damage was caused by the crime.

And until they’ve been to trial for crimes against the Republic, making business deals with them is a bad idea.

    Ardeth Shev’la :
Were ways of Resol’nare too hard for her or was so sensible?

I don’t fully know, though I would say from recent events that she could not fully devote her loyalties to her Aliit and the Mando’ade as a whole. Perhaps she may explain for herself.
