Queen Talia Kristan Speaks About Her Homeworld of Bakura

August 19, 2012

With little news of the last events in the Bakura Government, a reporter of the Galactic News interviewed their Queen, Talia Kristan.

The Bakuran throne room.

Bakura: The planetaty senate led by Dach Sapnitz lately reinstated the Bakuran monarchy with Talia Kristan, a former Republic Chancellor, taking the position of Queen. It also hasn’t been too long since the local government voted to remove Bakura from the Galactic Republic, as surprising result since so many of the Republic leaders had come from Bakura, including Chancellors Ma’at Nephthys, Baccus Altus, and Downz. The Grand Army of the Republic had also been heavily engaged with the Republic acting as its main military force for quite sometime. Even though they are still strong allies to the Republic, the independent GAR led by the Clone Council has pulled back from some of their missions for the Republic to consolidate their forces. Now the government, led by the Monarchy and the GAR are focusing on working together to develop, protect, and improve the planet.

As for the reasons of Bakura’s withdrawal from the Senate, much has already been written and speculated on the matter. The Queen cited security issues, the overuse of the GAR by the Republic, ignorance of a pair of Republic Senators, and the need for a more open trade status as reasons for Bakura’s withdrawal.

Queen Talia Kristan-Seda of Bakura.

The Republic has gone through several Chancelor’s of recently along with changing of Vice-Chancellors, the last of which was killed. Queen Kristan doesn’t feel that the Republic security is up to standard and that they tried to use the GAR to fill in the gaps; overworking, spreading, and thinning their forces too much as different Republic worlds used the GAR rather than strengthen their local forces. In conjunction with actions by senators she declared had very little knowledge of how the Galaxy worked, Bakura’s resources were being drained to protect the Republic. Since their withdrawal from the Republic, Bakura has been able to strengthen their local forces, move and revitalize their capital, and helped GAR become strong once again. Furthermore, they’ve been able to open trade with such powers as the Galactic Banking Clan, Fel Remnants, and the Tetan Empire.

However, Bakura hasn’t abandoned the Republic. Both the Bakuran government and the GAR are still strong allies with the Republic and GAR in particularly patrols and backs up the defenses of Republic worlds. Bakura has also named a Senator that acts as an ambassador with duties such as forming alliances, opening trade negotiations as well as other representative tasks for both the Monarch and GAR on the galactic stage. Currently the position is held by a Bakuran princess until elections can be held.

On the security front, the Queen along with Clone Sergeants Runes and Scout and Captain Snoop stated that the matter of the Pirate Lord Jes’tula Tor’dok declaring part of the capital of his would be taken care of. The Queen seemed confident the man, who she said was even disliked by other criminals, and his band would be removed by GAR and Bakuran defense forces quickly.

For the Red Mist matter, which had been reported on recently, GAR stated they haven’t seen any long-term effects from the chemical attack. The attack was contained and very few were injured by quick action by the security forces. GAR continues to investigate the matter to arrest all those involved. They may also contact Naboo where similar attacks took place.

I find it ironic that they’re in talks with the Fel and Tetan. Given that GAR had been at rather heavy ends with them in the past.

Actually the Grand Army has had fairly positive relations with both the Tetan Empire, and various “Fel Remnants”, for a number of years. If you where “really here” you’d know that…

“Greetings to the person who commented on the Grand Army’s status. Perhaps you should check your information before posting nonsense for all of the Galaxy to see. The Grand Army does not and has not had any issue with the Tetan Empire, and we do have allies of Fel remnants. But i’m not sure if you can read.. The trade negotiations are for the Government and Planet itself. Not the Grand Army.

Yours sincerely 501st X.O Runes, of the Grand Army.”

“Dantooine and many others have always appreciated help from the Grand Army. They have helped the Jedi fight against Sith for as long as I can remember. Many have also been able to help the Grand Army on their intergalactic operations usually in hostile territory. Because they all look similar and wear helmets they do not get the same praise with most writing them off as ‘expendable assets’. This is no way limited their impact on the Republic in its protection and does not take anything away from the sacrifices many of them have made. I personally have fought alongside the 501st, 724th with Captain “Snoop” and ARC “Wraith” and 21st Galactic Marines with Lieutenant “Mag”. Bakura has left the Republic but GAR wont abandon the Republic.”

Does anyone else find it funny that whenever there’s a Republic, one of the first groups to disassociate from it is the “Grand Army of the Republic”?

“Again mr Jowart, i can’t express that people gain facts before they state sentences. GAR has been reffered to as the Grand Army for many years now.” ((Almost 2 RL years if i am correct, the name stays the same due to the large members and history with the group))

Puh-lease. The Grand Army of the Republic is more disliked than ole’ Jes’tula. Criminals, Republic Officials, Mandalorians, Pirates, Hutts, Jedi, Sith.. The list goes on.
No. Ole’ Jes’tula is there to stay. Enjoy the Space Butter!

Actually, you’re disliked by one of the largest groups of people out there. I’m talking about civilized people.

Yeah, you’re still around. But the day that changes is when you’ll have to be buried in secret so your grave doesn’t get desecrated.

        Hello Navigator Space Butter!
How are you? Good? Yes. I am disliked by many, and those who do tend to have the same sort of feelings from myself. Know what happens? Space Butter. Yes.

    • August 21, 2012 at 3:29 PM

GAR is called GAR. GAR is an acronym for “Grand Army of the Republic.” If you were to reduce it to “Grand Army,” then the acronym would then become “GA,” not “GAR.” By continuing to use the acronym “GAR,” you are continuing to perpetuate the name “Grand Army of the Republic.”

What generation are you? Thirtieth? Fortieth? They need to put more protein in the cloning vats.

I think what Runes is getting at is that, is that although officially dubbed ‘Grand Army of the Republic’, we more often refer to ourselves as the ‘Grand Army’, or ‘GAR’ (pronounced Gar) in an attempt to avoid confusion via association with whatever the most renowned Republic movement happens to be at the time in question.

Furthermore, while yes referring to our organisation by it’s full title “Grand Army of the Republic” is still correct, the belief that because the word “Republic” exist in the title we therefore must automatically be associated with any or every Republic type government that exists is highly inaccurate.

I dunno, Mr. Big Scary Space Pirate. You’re referring to me as “space butter” but I’m not the one in this conversation missing any body parts.

    S-3547 :
    ‘GAR’ (pronounced Gar)

That’s not pronunciation. That’s capitalization. So I’m guessing you’re hundredth generation.

And when your full title is “of the Republic,” using the article, “the,” which denotes the marking of a proper noun as something well-known or unique, then yes, it is automatically associated with the Republic type government that exists right now. Of which there is one well-known case.

Oh… Oh wait I get it! You’re trolling! Man, you had me going there for a second. But I know better. There’s no way anyone could be that stupid.

Oh, I’ve got out quite a bit. I’ve dodged far scarier things than you. But the difference is this, you go looking for trouble as a way of overcompensating for the fact that your underdeveloped in the pants place. Us girls see it all the time in you “adventurous”(you’ve been watching too many holovid action movies, btw) types.

I however, prefer to steer south of trouble when I can. I already get enough “adventures” without even trying. So far…you’re down by one body part. But me? I’m perfectly fine. Any gambler would lay money on me living to a ripe old age and you dying without leaving any kids behind. 🙂

An’ Where be the fun in that, mate? And Oi, Insulting below the belt is a tad far. I mean, if you ain’t seen it, don’t talk about it. My policy on that subject. Why don’t we meet in in person and we can have words on the matter of how adventurous you are? I mean, lets face it, I am not trying to intimidate, threaten, or scare you, Ms. Space Butter, but you seem to be putting up a very defensive front, ya’know?

I’m being defensive? Haha! Re-read your own comments, Mr. Tall, Dark, and Greasy. I’m actually surprised that such a big bad pirate cares what an ordinary girl on the holonet thinks of him. And sorry but no, I can’t meet up with you. I’ve got a reputation to uphold and meeting up with a pirate won’t help that. Besides, I doubt anything you have to say could be profound enough to warrant a face to face meeting. If you want to keep crowing about how gosh-durned special you are, this is as good a place as any.
