Empire Day in Woostri

September 16, 2012

A correspondant of the Galactic News covered the Empire day festivities on Woostri.

Woostri Plaza

The Empire organised an exhibition on Woosti to display the branches of the government and the military. Called the Empire Day this meeting gathered several people, a lot of military and mainly imperial citizens, but also a few people from other factions including the Mandalorians and citizens of the New Republic. Around the plaza, several booths were installed to show the different faction of the Empire, such as the Disciples of Ragnos, the Imperial Stromtroopers, the Navy, the Imperial Guards, and the Trayus Academy represented by the Emperor himself.

How vitreous the resolve of the Republic has become when such flagrant boasting is allowed to proceed without hindrance. In dictatorial terms, such a display of force serves two purposes. The first is that such a display is intended to reinforce the feeling of fear that is so rampant among the Empire’s current subjects. The second is for such a display to serve as a warning to those who would be inclined to resist violently or through the written word.

Free citizens of the galaxy, we have seen this before. History is cyclical in nature. Once more, we return to the roots of oppression and see the wondrous horror of the tree that is the end result of our agrarian analogy. The oppressors must establish parameters that are implicitly controlled by themselves and their agents. The first has been to engineer the enemy. The enemy shall not be of the Empire and the enemy shall inflict injury upon the innocent. As you shall soon find out, my friends, the enemy never truly existed. It is a fabrication of this government, reserved solely for the purpose of instilling fear into the people. Furthermore, the fictitious enemy shall serve as a rallying call in which the people are naively persuaded that the Empire is their only true source of safety. The sheep shall flock to the side of the wolf because there is the illusion of a greater threat.

Tyrants shall always cherish their parades and their wondrous displays of force. Following a covert plot to injure their own people, they often follow such an event with something like…Empire Day. This is to assure the people that they are safe and that the business of the imperial government shall not be obstructed by violence.

Be vigilant, citizens. The wolves beckon to you with open arms and you may just lack the wisdom to decline their offer…

TL;DR: The Empire is obviously a bunch of evil bad guys in eopie’s clothing, and if you believe their promises of safety, security, and justice, then you’re a raging idiot.

In other words, poodoo we already know- “we” of course being those of us blessed with brains.

“We” are decreasing in numbers as time progresses. The mob wears the heart upon the sleeve, easily swayed and quick to act. Often, the victor is the loudest. I see not dissent from any other faction. Perhaps they grow fearful?

((You know if you ride that spiral to the end, you may just go where no one’s been.))

(Sadly they did not catch the -GIANT IMPERIAL LOGO- made from flora in the center of the plaza, or the stage. Here are several photos:)

((In the middle of the night (for me), I focussed on the booths and the people and didn’t notice the logo))

((No worries Daana, sorry if I came off as confrontational.))

((Probably because it was done in a matter of a few hours 😉 I’d like to see you do so, love.))

((Also note the build was made in a single day, as the original Woostri sim was returned.))

((So, just to clarify, are you responding IC to my IC post, or OOC to my IC post? I don’t mind either way, just curious how you expect me to respond 😉 ))

      • September 18, 2012 at 1:18 AM

((Oh OOC, I just don’t want the event to be misrepresented because of the image. I don’t respect a response moreso than just providing information for your viewing pleasure))

((I appreciate the photos Cal – the logo in the middle was very nice. Not to be a grammar nazi, but I’m going to assume you meant “expect” instead of “respect”. 🙂 ))
