Rori to Hold Elections for Senator to the Republic

September 30, 2012

GNN reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide traveled to the Naboo moon of Rori and met with Lon Delles, a senator candidate.

Rori: Senator Roswenthe Aluveaux  will step down opening up senatorial elections on this moon of Naboo. Already throwing his hat into the ring is Lon Delles a former student of the famed politician Hixal Aulus.

Serving as a local politician on New Restuss, the capital of Rori, Lon Delles is now ready to enter onto the galactic stage. Have become very concerned of what the Republic has become and the challenges it faces such as the loss of Coruscant. He wants the people of the Galaxy to rally and push the senators to stop with the pointless meetings and focus and what truly matters.

He stated that the only things being passed in the Senate during their secret meetings are bills designed to benefit the Senators and a select view while the rest of the Republic lives in fear of the Empire. He wants the system to be reformed so that it becomes a force to bring an end to war and reclaim their territory. He said it was time the Republic stopped pushing away the Jedi orders and to rekindle alliances with groups such as the GAR. He said without either group the Republic is too weak to do anything.

He wants to make the government transparent and open the eyes of the Galactic citizens to what is really going on. He hopes to serve the people of Rori and the citizens of the galaxy by pushing for true freedoms and liberties and to encourage those that truly defend the Republic and not the economic interests the Senators focus so much on.

Hopefully, Mister Delles will debate with other candidates as they come forward. GNN looks forward to covering the senate race on Rori.

We can only hope that this one isnt as corrupt as mr. Hixal was…

Mr. Delles seems to be a more than capable candidate. I have no doubt he will represent his world well, and we will be keeping our eyes upon his political career…

Isn’t political assassination a job for your “Imperial Intelligence” guys?

Good luck to make anything useful for the people out of the Senate. It’s in the hands of a cliquish monarchist clan, representing their own interest or at most their local queen’s. For instance, look two months after the take over of Coruscant, Not A Single Word was send toward their people, or even toward the people of the Republic. Instead, the Senate is forced to secret meetings to take decisions without debate and going against the morale. They would sentence whoever dared to try comforting the people telling they’re not forgotten… if ever it was still doable.

Sadly I don’t hold much faith in Senators and Senates no matter what is occuring within them. Politicians are not trained to solve problems, they are only trained to win approval. The problems of today are not political problems, but technical problems.

There is nothing wrong at winning approval as long as it’s for the sake of the people and with its consent. The issue is when the Senators spread their fortune, use their family or other personal relationship to gain their position. Once in the senate, they make long speech about themselves, blame the few one actually talking about the people and spread the favours of the Republic to their worshipers to gain more influence. This is the sad situation of the Republic leading clique.

How is any Senator to win approval without first running on issues and solving problems? Your logic is flawed from the start.

Lon Delles a former student of the famed politician Hixal Aulus.

Because we did not learn our lesson with the actual Hixal? Hixal cared far less about the republic than he would have people believe. On the other hand he did care a great deal about apearing to be a matyr. Of course that was just a ploy to further his own career, but people will believe what they like. We shall see what his..student does.

Well, the prophecy is coming true.

Morrigan has started speaking reason. Soon, Dewbacks will start beaming from the stars and Jedi will start recalling their roots and acting appropriately- just in time for the implosion of all of the universe.

      It’s a bittersweet realization.

We all have our opinions on matters. Mr Aulus taught me well, none of you saw how upset he was after false claims lead him to a life of hiding and dying for the New Republic.

But let us focus on the future and the re-birth of the Senate, this needs to happen as we, the republic, cannot live in fear any longer. We need a new system one where Senators are elected in public eye as some Senators have been in the spot for for too long and have last themselves. It is time to end wars even, in some cases, if it means facing defeat.. Our people need structure and security rather than fear and backing off letting the Empire do as they please.

I call for the Chancellor to consider entering talks to Jedi Orders and show that we need them more than ever. Also the GAR alliance needs to be looked at.. we need them also.

Stop the system of self gain and represent the people.. the real power. You, Senators, are part of a structure that is there to gain for yourselves and not the people. It is time for change in the system and I am that change.

    Lon Delles.

That sounds a bit self centered and self-glorifying, now doesn’t it?

Let me explain a few things to you. The Jedi are already part of the Republic, how they coordinate and fight is up to them. They are not the Republic’s Military.

As for GAR, clearly you show that you do not know the situation with them whatsoever. GAR is basically a mercenary group of self-cloned soldiers. GAR were once a part of the Republic and loosely considered part of the combat-force, until they revoked their membership from the Republic.

As much as you think that by their name, or by their armor; that they are the ‘Grand Army of the Republic’; you must understand that this is just a misrepresentation and they are as close to a true Grand Army of the Republic as the CIS is to an actual Confederacy.

As for who you are directing the “System of self gain” statement; I have yet to be able to understand who exactly. The Senators are elected normally by the people; if you have an issue with your senator you should either consider voting for their opponent in the next election, or running yourself. But a coup is not needed in a functional democratic system.

As for Hixal, I knew him myself personally, and I lead the investigation on the murder of the Vice-Chancellor. It was confirmed that Hixal was indeed the one who hired mercenaries to kill her, yet due to his cowardly suicide; we had no-one to take to trial.

Wait… Are you the minister of defence, or the former one? I mean the one responsible to leave our fleet in such a state the capture of Coruscant or Tython was possible. I would recall Tython was a stronghold of the New Republic Navy before your decision deprived it of all its defences. We could argue, however, the Navy became under your administration the shadow of it was at its creation and that would probably have not changed anything.

I’m amazed you now are blaming one of the few former Senator which ever talked about the people in his speeches. Are you afraid the tax payers ask what you did with their credits?

The Republic is in good hands since such a long while…

During my time as Defense Minister, Tython had broken multiple laws of the Republic, and had nearly been removed. Due to this, the Republic moved it’s military forces to Coruscant. After my retirement from Minister of Defense, the late Admiral Kristoff had returned nearly all of Tython’s defense forces.

But no, I retired months before the attack on Coruscant.

As for the Navy, no funding was ever given through the federal government for it. Did you forget that Tython’s Governor funded the Navy completely? Well the Republic never made an attempt to fund the Military, even when i had asked. Although Chancellors Marcel and Vanek provided, out of their own pocket, a small amount to keep a portion of the military alive; this was relatively null compared to what should have been provided by the government.

I suggest speaking to your Senators about that, the leadership of the Military has been in good hands, and I have faith in the new Defense Minister.

Mr Ryan Adams I would like you to present this evidence on Hixal Aulus and his attempts at killing the Vice Chancellor, of the time. Because myself and a few of Hixal’s political associates have heard that Susevfi were behind the attacks on the Vice Chancellor.

As for you yourself you made many mistakes and failed to serve the defense on the New Republic. Plus you failed a few times on being elected a Senator.

I can’t, I retired; and Admiral Kristoff has died. I have no clue as to where the evidence is now, but I am sure you can try and find it in the databases when you get Senatorship.

As for failing, no worlds were taken during my term as Defense Minister.

And for “failed”, I never ran for Senator of any world. I did though run, and win, an election to Governor of Tython; where Tython’s NJO challenged democracy and forcefully threw me out of Office.

Evidence? Ta’Kara Darkmoon was openly attacked in the senate chambers on Cor. As stated here,

      https://galacticnewssl.wordpress.com/tag/takara-darkmoon/

No one has contested it and there wasnt a trial because of hixals ‘murder’. It was broadcasted all over the holonet. Your Trainer allied himself with Sith Mercs. Susevfi? They had no part in this as they have opened their records of accounts to me and I oversaw their internal investigation upon appointment as a republic representative.

I don’t think we have room for an idealist, what we need is a realist. Just my opinion.

((Removed the possibly offensive comment. The right answer is Chancellor Downz, Baccus, and the admiral Rodchester. Try to recall people’s name, search in this blog if you don’t, or use refernces. I’ll be confusing if you call character by names other than theirs. -DK))

(( 1) Once*, 2) I forgot their IC names. 3) Once again? 4) Is it really that important that you have to not only bring it up, but have such an attitude about it? You need to get your priorities straight. Also stop hiding behind that name, that’s all people ever do on the GNN these days. ))

(( “seen as character names and immersion are clearly not important to you…” And “Giacobbe ones again mixing his IC and OOC info…”. Look, you’re allowed under law to act as childish as you are; by all means. You’re welcome to go to GAP kids and get yourself a ton of sweaters to wear all around even.

But you don’t come here, insult people for no reason, and expect not to get scolded on it. You need to start acting your age, assuming you’re old enough to play SL.

Btw, if you’re going to be a smart-ass, then work on your grammar first and try and do a little better on your insults. I’ve seen much better from kids who did it, when acting like a child meant they were actually acting their age.

Or do you want everyone to start treating you like you’re a kid? ))
