Wedding On Tython Among Conflict

October 20, 2012

Reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide were invited to the wedding of  Nasaji Oba and Karsakh Devi, on the Imperial occupied planet of Tython.

Wedding on Tython

In a remote rebel encampment on Tython, former Tython Senator Nasaji Oba wed Karsakh Devi. Beside her activity on Tython, Nasaji Oba is dignitary from Shili, member of the prestigious Nacaal tribe. Karsakh Devi, for his part come is member of the Esh’Kadar tribe in Kiros. The Union can also be considered as an alliance bewteen their respective tribes.

The ceremony was conducted by Senator Sapphire Tafo, called to replace the traditional shaman, missing the event. Several Jedi, including several from the KOJ of Yavin IV and other guests endangered their lives by sneaking through the Imperial blockade to join with the rebels and New Jedi Order (NJO) already on the surface to witness this event, which took away the reality of the war for a moment at least.

Exhanging vows.

Most of the ceremony was conducted in a traditional Togruta manner. Ashla, the name of the light side of the Force, but also one of the Moon of Tython, was called on to bless the couple while they exchanged ritual vows promising to care for one another. A knife was then used to cement the union with blood pricked from their thumb. Nasaji and Karsakh anointed each other lips with their blood then sealed the union with a kiss.

Wedding party and guests react to unwanted guests

As the couple turned to the crowd which was lost in emotion and preparing for the reception, newcomers appeared. Two armored men, similar to the designs worn by those that tried to sell the Hutt Council a frozen Wonka the Hutt forced their way into the ceremony. They began throwing grenades and firing in the air and quickly tried to kidnap Senator Tafo. Those in attendance were shocked and surprised and before they could mount a counter-attack, the Senator was quickly whisked away on a drop ship. She did manage to escape the ordeal jumping from a hatch.

They did not reveal, during the event, the purpose of the kidnapping or how they passed through the blockade. The resistance members were already scrambling to get intelligence. The camp was also quickly abandoned while people moved to other locations.

Rebel attack against an imperial power generator

The resistance movement had also been functioning on a high note having carried out successful mission destroying a power generator. Actions were run with the help from KOJ who are becoming an active part of the resistance movement along with the local NJO. From reports this had cut power to several Imperial placements, but its likely the Empire was working around the clock to correct the situation. Rebels also showed off new hardware such as a hover-tank, though the crew was too surprised to react to the would be kidnappers in time.

As for the newlyweds, who had been at the forefront to save Sapphire also quietly took off to start their new lives together. GNN wishes them the best of luck and to a bright future.

We have an agreement to pass the blockade and were driven to the, now abandoned, wedding place.

Galactic News Network doesn’t take part of the conflict out of the reportages and we do not support a side over another.

Is anyone else wondering where that Tython Liberation Front went, now that their planet is actually under siege? Or are they now folded in to this new resistance?

It would be hilarious if the resistance who opposed the Jedi before is begging for their aid now.

Truth be told, the TLF seemed to cease activities way before the blockade. Their disappearance was indeed strange.
