Master Kei-Rebu Retires as Governor of Rori

October 24, 2012

On Dantooine, reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide met with Master Jedi Kei-Rebu.

Master Jedi Kei-Rebu is retiring from his post of governor of Rori. His decision was based on the fact that high-profile targets like the Jedi only brought strife and conflict to the people of Rori who are seeking peace. He believes by removing himself it will give the people of Rori to start working on what they truly desire.

Master Jedi Kei-Rebu on Dantooine.

Now he will be acting as a consultant to several of the other Jedi orders starting with the Dantooine Jedi Enclave (DJE), his home world. As for his work with the Jedi, he hopes to visit all the orders of the galaxy and assist them in training the Jedi to move away from being mere soldiers to what a Jedi truly is. He believes the consular side of many Jedi have fallen to the wayside along with wisdom and hopes to instill these traits back to the orders as masters are to set the example for other Jedi and padawans alike.

He explained that Jedi should be ready for battle to defend those that need it, but only when they are needed. Furthermore, their duties should be limited to keep the peace but not advance military orders of another party such as the Senate. He further elaborated that Jedi aren’t tools and when their time is spent mostly on the battlefield they begin to lose their way. Jedi should be comforting and serving the people not looking for military glory.

He’ll try to re-inspire the Jedi by looking to try to become the ideal Jedi himself and hold up the centuries of Jedi that did as well. As for teaching he would always start with the Jedi Code and its importance, then help students experience life throughout the galaxy so they would learn by example. Furthermore he said teachers should instill as much knowledge from combat skills to diplomatic ones, should push their students to do the best, teach wisdom and restraint. He summed it up in these words, “Heed wisdom and selflessness above all else“.

He’s spoken with several other Jedi that are like-minded as well and is hopeful for the future of the Jedi and hopes that other galactic institutions such as the Senate strive for the ideal and not let corruption set in.

Words well said. One of my close friends was a Jedi, I hate the idea of him being shipped off to Coruscant to fight the Senate’s campaign.
