Governor withdraw Tython from the Republic

November 20, 2012

Galactic News Network attended to a meeting organise by Terah Avon, Governor of Tython.

In the conclusion of a long speech, the Governor of Tython, Terah Avon announced her decision to withdraw her planet from the Republic

Terah Avon:

Governor Terah Avon

The Republic once stood as a sign of democracy where many worlds came together as one to work for the greater good. For some time now I have watched with a heavy heart the decline of the Republic, it has lost it’s way. Lately it has transformed into a body that wishes to rule over the worlds that participate in it, the only difference between the Republic and the Empire is the name they choose to go by. This is not what the Republic was meant to be about. Ever since I have assumed my role here on Tython first as Vice Governor and now as Governor, I have had one Republic official or another come to this planet and talk to me as if I am some subject who is supposed to bow down to them, as if the laws we have here on our planet doesn’t matter when it comes to the Republic.

In our hour of need however they failed to send us the troops to help us fight off the Imperial invaders, instead our people stood up and fought, bled, and some even died liberating us from the Empire. The only help we received was from the Jedi Order. When this is brought to the Republic they hide behind the fact they have a military that isn’t suited to defend the worlds of the Republic, yet they still take taxes from us. Where do the credits go? Clearly it’s not to the military but yet the Senators and officials fly from world to world in the best of accommodations. They saw fit to swoop into our world when they received all the bad press and tried to apply a band-aid to cover up their misstep and save face. Despite all of this Tython remained with the Republic hoping something would change. I tried to work with our Senator who instead of doing the job she was elected to do which was represent Tython and our needs in the Senate, she chose to go to the frontlines and fight. Some would call this brave, but some would say she would’ve served her people better by fighting in the Senate to send us some support from the Republic army instead of leading so many of our own to their deaths. Some call it brave but it was not, it was simply Tafo being the opportunist that she is and taking the opportunity to get her so called freedom fighters, or should I say Tython Liberators together so she could stage a coup, and take Tython to the Empire after they left.

I tried to work with the Republic. I spent a day and the better part of a night meeting with officails on this matter presenting evidence and such to them, evidence that seems wasn’t enough in thier eyes, despite it was in their own law, one of the crimes they themselves laid against her. She led a coup with a Republic official at her side, yet the evidence wasn’t enough. Instead of losing her position and being tried she was rewarded with a new position, a higher one, congratulations Madam Vice Chancellor, you are perfect for the role in this Republic. Maybe you can have the Chancellor kidnapped like Oba and have her tortured til she steps down and then become Chancellor yourself. I am disgusted with the Republic.

The people of Tython have been crying for freedom from the tyranny of the Republic for some time now, I have met with many and told them things will get better, we must have faith in the Republic. What did we get for it? More showings of the Republics power over us, I say no more, no more will we be ruled, no more will we give our credits to a corrupt body who spends it so frivolously on themselves, no more will we be told we don’t matter, no more. Today I stand before you to declare our freedom, Today I stand before you to tell you I have heard your cries and I join you in telling the Republic that Tython withdraws from you, we are breaking our chains and setting ourselves free.

In the question afterward, the Governor continued her complaints about the Republic and the then Senator Sapphire Tafo, now Vice-Chancellor. She said as “evidence” the Republic is corrupted it they didn’t put Tafo in accusation. Even if she claimed to have the people’s support, she refused a referendum, since it would be related to the Republic and the idea was suggested by Tafo. It’s unclear who the governor asked the advice to, but the New Jedi Order (NJO) were not consulted. She claimed she didn’t plan to order them, and they can continue to do what they did as long as they don’t break Tython’s laws. After the discussion, she went to talk with the Baroness Jolenda from Mos Espa in her office.

One step forward, one step back. At this rate, in a year, the Republic will have as many worlds as it has now! And maybe they might even be the same ones!

Another member lost from the Republic hmmm, Well I and the Representatives (along with Natives) of Endor as well our new growing organization wish to open our arms and warm well wishes toward Tython also congratulating them on seeing how The Republic has become no more then a “Senate Room” full of others bickering and finding no means to help it’s fellow citizens..And a Message to the Government of Tython ” If interested Please do contact us for any source of help and future means of success along with prosper for your home aswell others as we have interest for you before and spoken in the past.. We could also arrange a means of creating a better goal for others. And seeing the Republic’s errors and bringing it to many’s attention so to try or WILL restore its proper way” I now see it’s only a matter of time where more and more valued members of the Republic will eventually see the same light as us and withdraw their planet in the same matter of way and in the end it may become to late for those inside it that are corrupted to mend their mistakes as to bring back the necessary actions of a true faction called the Republic ..

Lies built up on more lies. The Tython Government has always been corrupt and controlled by the Jedi. You whine about tyranny yet it was your Jedi who removed Governors when they didn’t like them. The people of Tython want a serious planetary government, not the same idiocy and pretend Jedi they’ve had for the past few years.

Well of course Tython is corrupt, people with half a brain have known this for years. If they have not figured this out recent events ought to have spelled it out for them.

Not only does the “governor” use some rather fractured logic for explaining Tython’s withdrawal but doesn’t even have a grasp on what her “people” want.

Can we stop having news from this idiotic world on GNN. Tafo’s a Hutt pawn, the people of Tython are di’kute and don’t get me started on the supposed Jedi they got there

Tython once stood as a sign of democracy. A regime where the will of the people was taken in account, through elections and representative. Came the Empire occupation, all Tythan preserved their liberty and their rights by combating the occupier.

All Tythan… but one.. Terah Avon, disappeared to hide, in Tatooine, at the point everybody ignored her existence. Once the Empire was chased, she came back, from her hideout of Tatooine, and claimed the leadership of the planet. She was never elected, she never campaigned, or met the people to care of their need. She was just named as second by the former Governor.

Wanting to assure the National Unity, the resistance wanted to give her a chance as leader, as long as she was able to face elections. We all agreed the question of the maintain in the Republic shall be asked… but all the people agreed it had to be answered by the people themselves, and certainly not by someone hiden when the people suffered, or for the benefit of her band of outsiders.

The people of Tython, those who bravely fought the invaders, those having victims of war don’t want a coward and opportunist woman as their petty dictator. From my contacts all over the planet, I heart the people raising, reforming the resistance cells, reopening the secret bases, and mounting operations to fight the new dictatorship and end their new ordeal.

Will Tython remain in the Republic? Does the People want it? It’s to the people to decide. Even if the common sense did not dictate it, the laws of Tython impose a consultation of the people for changing a fundamental law. Whatever is the answer, It has to be done in harmony with our fellow members of the New Republic.

By her illegal declaration, Terah Avon showed she was a traitor to the Republic, and worst she’s a traitor to the People of Tython. She will have to personally answer to her crimes, fortunately for her through the court of the Republic.

We all rejoice in our freedom from the republic, who wasn’t there for us, and told us so vehemently that we didn’t matter. It was wrong of the Senator to try to force an unessary election when what we needed was help and re-building. It was further wrong of her to try to take control of the planet by force causing more strife when what we needed was a unified front from our leaders, instead she caused more problems and distractions which only slowed our progress. Now she continues to further cause issue instead of doing what is best for her people and working with her leader. She went to fight against the Empire when you should’ve been fighting the republic to send help. Thankfully the Jedi were there to help us and they came in despite the republic. It is because of her neglet I have lost loved ones who took arms to defend our home. The Empire wiped out entire villages during their campaigne here on Tython, all of this and the republic did nothing to help us, and Senator Tafo who we elected to be our voice in the Senate was silent because she was too busy chasing glory fighting the Empire. We have suffered enough, please stop this maddness of yours Senator, this quest for power you have needs to stop because it is at our expense. You have made it to the Vice Chancellor position but yet that isn’t enough for you. We might not have voted for her but if the Governor we did vote for trusted her enough, then I also trust her, and so do many more of us. You are clearly out of touch with your people because we have been crying for freedom from the republic for some time now. Between the two of you she clearly is the better deciscison maker, she is acting for what is best for her people. You claim her to be a coward because she wasn’t on the frontlines with you, but that is not the role of the governor or the senator that is what the military is for. While you was on the frontlines chasing glory she was clearly acting in the interest of her people and doing her job by trying to get help for us, and when she did return she did so with supplies, food, medical supplies, and credits from donators she managed to find to help. If you are concerned with leading wars Senator, then maybe you should take a seat in the republic military instead of the Senate. Because we were attached to the republic the empire targeted us, and the republic did nothing to help, then after they wanted to come in and bring supplies and act like they cared. WE THE PEOPLE OF TYTHON SUPPORT GOVERNOR AVON, THANK YOU FOR FREEING US! LONG LIVE TYTHON!

Such a shame that a “concerned citizen of Tython” has only ever made another post concerning Tython, when it was a way to make the Republic look bad. Yet all the articles about Tython being invaded you were silent? What an interesting trend.

Here is your ONLY other post concerning Tython. https://galacticnewssl.wordpress.com/2012/10/23/press-release-republic-defense-ministers-statement-regarding-tython/

Actually, that never happened, (…) It’s such a shame you believed rumors that I had removed the military from Tython.

“misserable Di’kut bantha poo doo waste of space slug.”

What a mess of childrens insults and Mandalorian insults. Since when were Tython citizens Mandalorian Children?

You were the WORST governor we ever had and that is why your term was so short.

I had a full term, so I’m not sure what you mean by that?

Clearly you’re not from Tython, and not very concerned. I would like to find out where you’re from. It’s just such a shocker you can make so many insults yet you remain anonymous. Clearly you’re too much of a coward to reveal your identity.

To think, a cowardly mandalorian? You must be Dar’Manda then. Very intelligent comment by the way.

The Empire invaded because of the creation of biological weapons intended for use against the citizenry of The Empire. The Empire has no ill will toward the people of Tython, and as you can clearly see with how we handled our military operations on Tython. We invaded, dismantled Republic shipyards, confiscated dangerous bioweapons and threats to safety, destroyed terrorist insurgent cells and training camps (The villages you mentioned) through no Republic intervention or negotiation, The Empire withdrew from Tython it’s work done returning the system’s control to the people.

The Empire invites Tython and any worlds leaving the now disbanded Republic to join The Empire. The Codex Imperialis will be published publicly very soon and as you will see, It allows several options for becoming a member world of the Empire which do not involve regular patrols of Sith and Stormtroopers marching down your streets such as the stereotype would imply. In fact, they could be given nearly full autonomy provided they contributed to the Imperial Economy in a significant manner.

Wow, she’s really not wasting time climbing into those big-girl pants and waving that title like a bludgeon.

I wonder under what authority she’s now declaring people to be criminals of the republic- because I’m pretty sure if that job belongs to anyone, it would be the chief justice (who is a sith) or the chancellor (who is a ghost). It would seem she is already presuming herself chancellor- though I guess you could consider that throne to be virtually vacant at this point anyway.

Oh yes. sure! Leaving the republic is going to fix everything…. Good luck against the Empire…. oh wait, you already betrayed the Republic by dealing with the CIS behind the Senate’s back. Yes. independence from the cruel, tyrannical , and ineffective Republic is so wonderful! so Liberating… and very weakening. I wish all of the independent worlds citizens good luck… you will need it against Empires who want to conquer and subjugate. With no substantial navy to speak of your selves, how will you protect yourselves an your children? Well, you think being out on your own away form the Republic is so great, correct? Let us see how long you fair without your support of a navy that could have been funded by all of us to protect all of us.

You clearly don’t want our help, just like teenage children don’t want their parents. Fine. Do not blame the Republic when the Empire comes to either conquer you or weasel you out of your fragile social control… it’s out of our hands now.

Are you sure you’re addressing your self-righteous vitriol against the right planet? These guys already got attacked by the Empire while the Republic sat around and did nothing to help them, so arguing that they’re losing the protection of the Republic is kind of…

      • November 25, 2012 at 10:16 PM

They didn’t, actually. The Empire came and went and got what they came for. According to their reports, take them as you will, they were no interested in keeping Tython. According to the report form Tython, the Tythonians lost their liberation front…. so no, they didn’t liberate themselves., first of all, and second Controlling space is enough to subjugate a planet using fear of orbital bombardment as leverage. Is this not more evidence that that The Empire is benevolent? That we did not seek to conquer but rather surgically remove a threat? Is this not proof that the Empire is a better protector than the Republic in that if we are not wanted, we simply will leave, but the Republic has to create rebellions, terrorist insurgencies and sow chaos and violence against the establishment in order to get it’s way? Billions died on Coruscant because of the Republic’s actions. Fondor was rightfully the Mandalorians, Tython never recieved any Republic help and did not need it.

The Empire seeks Order. The Empire IS Order. It is the triumph of a properly regulated capitalist society that is pro-business and pro consumer at the same time. Pro competition and pro protectionism. In the Empire, you can have your cake and eat it too because we simply have that much cake. The Economy of the Empire is booming, The Republic is collapsing in front of your very eyes.

In the Empire, citizens enjoy good living wages with benefits for their workers, cheap and sometimes free healthcare, cheap, bountiful food in abundance and variety from all over the galaxy, cheap consumar luxuries and goods of high quality yet fairly priced. Piracy is non existent in Imperial Space, Violent crime is unheard of, and most importantly, the people of the Empire are free.

With all the benefits of joining the Empire, the only reason any world would not want our protection and benefits is because of Jedi and Republic propaganda against us. Which the galaxy is waking up to.

According to the Empire, they invaded Tython because they believed the “Tythonians” where developing biological weapons, not because Tython was a member of the Republic.

Actually, they claimed Tython was developing biological weapons for use against Coruscant.
      https://galacticnewssl.wordpress.com/2012/10/22/galactic-empire-ends-tython-occupation/

“The weapon, described as an airborne, weaponized pathogen that targets and degrades the nerve system and motor functions of those affected. The gas was intended for covert deployment on Coruscant in order to subdue scores of Imperial troops, but would no doubt have impacted thousands of innocents due to its virulent nature.

All traces said weapon have reportedly been eradicated. Likewise, the naval assets and military shipyards of the world —set up by previous administrations to provide defense for the Republic— have also been targeted and largely dismantled or impounded to prevent their use against Coruscant in the Republic’s campaign.”
      ^Kulith Laan

The only link between Tython and Coruscant was the fact that it was in the republic, and the republic was invading Coruscant at the time. So yes. Their association with the Republic was the entire reason for the invasion. And how did the Republic repay them?

      It didn’t.

Do you even listen to yourself? Do you bother to not contradict yourself within three comments? Why should anyone have faith in Republic military support when even your stupid overly-manicured fingers admit that the Republic has absolutely failed to raise one effectively, even when funded to do so? Terah Avon hide in Tantooine all the time of the occupation and didn’t do anything for Tython until the Empire leave. Being an expert in inactivity, she certainly feels herself qualified to blame the Republic during this time. She’s just yet another power monger “leader” thinking she can rule the people without asking their advice.

Tython was attacked because part of the Republic, the Empire claimed it could be used as rear base and bioweapons (virus) were being developed. Even if the bioweapon investigations are still in progress, the military base claim don’t hold water. The former staff several time showed her disdain for our lovely planet, for instant withdrawing in the other end of the Galaxy and out of the Republic (Bakura) after the occupation instead of the very close Tython, not even sending a man to watcht the enemy was doing or sending a single crate of ammo to the freedom fighters during the occupation, or even refusing to reinforce the planet defence or using it as rear base after the chancellor forced the senate to declare the war to the Mandalorians.

Meanwhile, the people of Tython managed to free themselves, with the help of the local Jedi and those of Yavin 4 during the occupation, and elements of Dantooine’s or Onderon’s at the very end. All fought for the liberty and the people don’t deserve now the dictatorship of Terah Avon.

Now the former staff left, the Republic is going to be more active and closer to the people, at least as during the short time I’m holding the charge of acting Vice Chancellor, and I hope after the next staff will be elected.

    • From the Desk of The Imperial Ministry of Public Relations
      November 27, 2012 at 4:49 PM

False. The Empire never had any intention of using it as a “rear base” and we pulled out rather quickly after we finished our operations, the people of Tython did not “Free themselves” of the Empire, they fought against our legal, and rightful occupation of the planet ti dispose of a threat to not only the people of the Empire, but of the Republic as well being built for the Republic, against The Empire, after which we left. No Rebel or insurgent was triumphant in a single battle against The Empire. The Empire gave Tython it’s liberty, and invited them to join the Empire as a full member world with all of the protections ,rights and benefits entailing that.

Let me reword, the Empire claimed the Republic would use Tython as rear base for operation in Coruscant. The lack of support, however denied this allegation.

I still maintain the heroic behaviour of the people of Tython forced the Empire to leave. Would all of the leaders have behaved such as Terah Avon, the Empire would still be here unless they decided to evacuate due after the loss of Coruscant… And even… wouldn’t the Freedom fighters of Tython have kept the Empire in alert, the defence of Coruscant would have been stronger.
