Onderon and Bengat leave the Republic

December 7, 2012

Reporters of Galactic News travelled on Onderon to listen the Queen’s announcement.

Onderon

Queen Valara Drayen-Kiraof of Onderon

The Queen Valara Drayen-Kiraof of Onderon announced the formal withdrawal of her world from the New Republic. She said, along with others, they have “grown weary of their lack of action and weakness when their own planets are taken over, and the form of government we believe no longer functions as it should.” She blames the Senate for the inactivity since they are the ones voting the laws, and not the Chancellor which is only a host. She doesn’t believe the current acting staff would worsen the situation, especially she said Sapphire Tafo would be the worst possible choice for Chancellor, although she didn’t detail why.

In the Queen’s view, the former Chancellor Tiffany Vandergraff wouldn’t be in default of this inaction, on the opposite, she would have taken all necessary measures, notably about Coruscant or Tython occupation, but would have constantly been blocked by the Senate.

The Queen said she listened the will of her people and her Senator, Ayeka Kel, and decided the withdrawal. She also recalled the history where an indecision about the Republic turned in a civil war in Onderon.

The investigations of the Jedi which will be detailed in a upcoming article didn’t help her to stay.

During the demonstration of the Empire’s new weapon, Bengat publicized their change of allegiance.

Queen Morrigan of Bengat an Acting Chancellor Shan Connell

The queen Morrigan of Bengat confirmed the leaving of her world from the New Republic and the joining of the Galactic Empire under Kulith Laan. About the Republic, she evoked “internal policies which were not supportive of Bengat.”

The Acting Chancellor Shan Connell, former Senator of Bengat, explained she will remain in position until a successor is decided by the Senate. She detailed the position of Bengat telling “the actions of the Galactic Empire showed the cracks in the Republic infrastructure. First on Coruscant then on Tython. I have always held to the belief that if a government is to stand it will be because its people are willing to fight for it and I did see a few who tried these past years, but their stars were cast out or they were killed and not replaced. My home is Bengat. I go where my Queen goes.”

She also came back on the internal issues “Bengat originally applied to the Republic for protection from local pirate attacks preying on our tourism industry. I was told by Senator Kel that as Bengat’s Queen was affiliated with a Hutt that she would refuse to aid Bengat and withhold her fleet and even catalog of armaments she sells. The military likewise assured me that Bengat was a low priority if it should come under attack.”

To celebrate their new member, the Emperor Kulith Laan staged the weapon demonstration on Bengat at the satisfaction of the audience.

you and people like you accuse the leaders of the planets of being Siit or some other osik and then you act confused when they leave you in the dust? …please tell me you’re not really that stupid.

Well. I’ve never seen the queen before but that is a very, how would one say… Evil looking outfit she’s wearing. If I recall correctly, they also have a shrine and tomb dedicated to Darth Sidious outside the palace. It also has a history of Sith rulers and a strong darkside presence, sided with the CIS in the Clone Wars rather than the Republic.
During the Galactic Civil War, the planet also had strong imperial supporters.

Face it, Onderon sort of does have a history of darksider rulers and supporting darksider regimes. I would not be surprised whatsoever if the queen is, in fact, a Sith.
Plus its closest moon is Dxun, which last I checked, the Dark Lords of the Sith control.

Dxun is Mandalorian Territory. It has been for some times and more recently have the Mandalorians returned to it, in point of fact. To my knowledge these allegations have little real basis on whether the Queen is a Sith, truly. Honestly, while the alleged evidence is compelling, it doesn’t prove anything and in my past years of enforcing the law, I cannot follow an accusation on the basis of hearsay nor on alleged evidence that does not produce probable cause.

Further, while I have returned to practise of the Jedi path, I am dissatisfied with the behaviour of the Order’s leadership: They feel they need to pick on Queen Valara rather than help a whole nation of people under Sith occupation. One alleged Sith with no proof backing such allegations is evidently more important to them than 198 billion people in the Hapes Consortium occupied by many confirmed and known Sith Lords…. Go figure!

Way to Go, Jedi Order. Way to go.

oh no, a tomb…because you know, every kriffing tomb is a monument erected by the current government. oh no wait…not it isn’t because that would be something stupid to assume.

To be specific, I have no real problems with Shaka the Hutt himself, but his own affiliations are questionable, which is why I would not share technology with anyone affiliated with him. I have my reasons for this. suffice to say, I’m looking at a bigger picture when I do business. I am sorry for those who feel discriminated against or otherwise offended by my policies, but Until Better safegaurds are implemented, Paragon Enterprises must remain selective about whom they trade with.

You mean to say that that landmark being advertised as the ‘Tomb of Palpatine’ is in fact a shrine dedicated to a different Sith Emperor?

Tyrannies leaving the Republic? We could organise a party, but it’s so sad for this poor people living where a blood test is the only “political” skill required for being the unquestioned leader.

Hmmm from you Tafo…that statement on tyrannies is a joke. After all GNN does a have link to materials from sources out there. I seem to recall running across something about you and your wookiee pet on Tython during the height of the TLF.

So tyrannies and political skill coming from your mouth is a lot like a Hutt being a philanthropist…..ridiculous.

Which is ironic you’d say that because the Hutts in the CIS have been handing out relief supplied to several war stricken planets now.

        So there ya go.

You assume the Hutts are just in the mood to help out….you clearly are new to the galaxy if you don’t think there is no ulterior reason that they are “helping out”

Ths an ulterior reason for everything. Every philanthropist I’ve ever heard if has always turned out to be some kind of megalomaniac so that’s not news to me.
