Robbery and Death at the Velmor Museum

December 31, 2012

GNN Reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide were on Velmor when they heard of an incident at the Museum.

Velmor: Earlier in the day, several armed individuals entered into the royal museum on Velmor, were able to bypass security and began looting the facility of the priceless treasures of its collection.

Velmor leadership speaking about the robbery.

At this time the exact culprits are unknown. According to Velmor Ambassador Sunamoon who was a witness to the entire incident, the robbers were heavily armed, organized and quickly took the museum over. She stated that former politician Sapphire Tafo was with them, giving orders and helping secure the area as multiple treasure were taken. Another witness heard one of the robbers call her Tafo.

While the ambassador, guards, and museum workers were being held at blaster point, one of the young workers about sixteen of age tried to disarm one of the guards and was killed in the scuffle. The robbers then left with most of the priceless artifacts, taking another young worker with them as a hostage, but was quickly released once the looters were safely away.

Queen Thalia Janick was on hand as investigators were swarming the museum for clues. She’ll make a formal announcement in the coming days, but says this tragedy will not go unpunished and those responsible will be brought to justice. For now she will visit the family of the young girl who lost her life.

Senator Ayeka who also came to the scene said she’ll personally help track these criminals especially if Sapphire Tafo was involved. This is a tragedy for Velmor who was just trying to make available to the public some of the galaxy’s history. The exact items taken are also unknown at this time but from preliminary reports, it seems most were priceless Sith artifacts that will command a high price on the black market. More will be known in the coming days as investigators finish their jobs and formal announcements are made.

But the question we all want to know, is was the Celestial Nullifier taken? That’s what poses the greatest risk to the galaxy.

because…you know…a shell of something is so dangerous.

When the Republic came to Tython and started “investigating” we presented evidence that Ms. Tafo had been involved with the TLF. Nothing was done. Quite the opposite, she was temporarily made Vice-Chancellor. We also presented evidence to the NJO on Tython of Tafo’s perfidy and asked them to join a task force to further investigate matters. Marsh Solo said he’d need to get permission from the Jedi High Council for the NJO to get involved. Such permission was denied and the NJO sat on their hands. But that’s not surprising. Marsh Solo has on more than one occasion demonstrated an elitist attitude toward the people he’s supposedly protecting, even going so far as to try and deny me my rights to free speech.

Nobody, Jedi Master or Republic Official listened to us or did anything. This robbery on Velmor could have been prevented.

Ms. Tafo, if you’re reading this then even though I don’t approve of much of what you’ve done I must congratulate you on your success. You picked your marks well and played them up one side and down the other.

    The Celestial Nullifier wasn’t taken.

The robes, the gauntlets, the light saber, and the Jawa artifact were all taken.

Their show up sooner or later I’m sure. Maybe on the black market.

Or, maybe some stranger fancying him or herself a “supervillain”, using all to their advantage, will appear. But then again, who ever became an intergalactic threat whilst using a jawa artifact?

Ly’dia Amana! I’m not a Senator any more. I haven’t been for ages. I am tempted to return to the Security profession and retrain my Force knowledge… however, I will need to find a suitable replacement for me as head of Paragon Enterprises…. Of course, I’m hesitant because I’ve done so many things in my life that all these professions might create more personal conflicts than it’s worth. However, I cannot honourably sit idly by while injustices continue unimpeded…. Such is the dilemma of my life.

I’m totally innocent of this robbery, or any other crime than the Tython dictatorship would try to charge me.

As an eyewitness, you were there. You may not have held the blaster or smashed the display cases, but you -were- there and clearly a member of this…organisation. Therefore you are accessory.

That said. It would be of great interest to learn why one goes from being a Senator of Tython to member of a ‘criminal organisation’.

I’m sure you actually believe that.
