Research on Mynock Repellent

January 27, 2013

Reporters of the Galactic News discussed with a searcher in Dantooine.

Dantooine: A searcher is working to assist the spacer victims of the mynocks. The mynocks are a creature damaging the electronics, feeding from their power and material. Thorn, from the Dantooine Jedi Enclave collected the pheromones from these creatures are using to communicate. One of this pheromone is used by them to call the other to return to their hive. After having tried it on mynock colonies, the experiment were positive. Currently Thorn tries to separate the one send them to their hive, and work on synthesis it.

Even if the progresses are encouraging, the experiments are not yet over. Will the substance work in all atmosphere or even in the wild place is still to be determined. Also it’ll need to be sure it has no side effect. Further tests will be led in different environments. Whenever the research will be concluded, Thorn plan to leave the patent on the free market. This could help to a larger spreading, for the safety of the spacers as well as the mynocks who’ll not have to be shot anymore.

I must ask. Are these some new species of Mynock? All that I am aware of, they normally stick to the vacuum of space due to their allergy to hydrogen.

they were often limited to the vacuum of space due to an allergy to helium found in the atmosphere of many planets. This allergic reaction would cause them to inflate and nearly explode before dying
