Chaos at Hutt Night

April 12, 2013

GNN reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide attended the latest Hutt Night on Nar Shaddaa.

Once again it was standing room only at the Black Hole cantina on Nar Shaddaa where the Hutt council held their public audience. The event was hosted by Zestra and was attended by Shaka, Issulla, Gilbar, and Vakeva the Hutts with a representative of Balboa the Hutt present as well. Council leader Belutric the Hutt also arrived to take part.

Oondabba the Hutt before the Council

First to come to speak to the council was Oondabba the Hutt who had sent a representative to the last meeting to open up trade with the council. In person this week, this Hutt who head a large spice business was first interested in getting to know the individual members of the council and see where their interests lay so as to see which to work with for the best business deals. After listening to an introduction from each of his fellow Hutts, Oondabba set up a private meeting with them to discuss future business. He was especially interested in procuring shipping lanes near Tatooine.

Baby Girl giving an update of X Play to the Hutts.

Next to speak to the Hutts, was Kaelinn X also known as Baby Girl from X Play. Usually here to make announcements for upcoming events, this time she had more solemn news stating that since the bombing of their main club in the lower levels of Nar Shaddaa, many of the events would have to be postponed while X Play regrouped and refocused. For now the only event still going forward was a schedule of fights starting the next day on Nar Shaddaa. Several of the council members expressed interest in helping X Play rebuild and to give the entertainment conglomerate a new home for a while. Kaelinn X was honoured by the offers and had this to say “I would like to add X Play is not disbanding or breaking up.. just taking some time to refocus and renew ourselves.” For now there is no leads on who bombed Baby Girl’s, the surveillance systems having been destroyed and one of X Play’s employees, Lore has gone missing presumed to have been kidnapped by the bombers.

The final speaker of the night was Sihivius Verne who has been acting as an advisor and security for the council. She began her talk telling the Hutts how one of the Jedi who had attacked Nar Shaddaa and been taken catpive had been destroyed when she destroyed the space station in the Maw they were on. She had ordered the destruction of the station when a rescue crew had tried to retrieve the Jedi.

Right before chaos broke out.

While giving her reports to the Hutts, one of her associates, who failed to recognise Belutric got into a verbal altercation with him. This argument then spread as Belutric became offended that security didn’t recognise him. Verne then took offence to the Hutt’s insults to her associate and that she wasn’t be recognised or respected for her service to the Hutts. A fight then broke out between the security forces and the large Hutt. This extended with other security forces, body guards, and patrons entering into the fray. Most of the battle focused on Verne and her employees against Belutric but fighting was seen throughout the casino in the chaos.

At the end, several people were injured, while the council members were escorted to safety. Belutric himself received several severe blaster and flame injuries and almost became a victim of his Sarlaac. However, he managed to escape that death and was able to inflict damage on was once the Hutt security force. As everyone finally scattered and left the area its unknown at this time if there is still any relationship between Verne and the Hutts or who will take over security. Hopefully by next Hutt Night these questions will be answered.

”My relationship with the Council is unscathed I do assure you. However? I am not about to be shoved and insulted verbally and physically by those with vast inexperience to my own prowess within the underworld. I highly suggest two of the offenders this night read prior news concerning just what I am capable of, and realize it is not beyond my power to kill any member of the Council for proving to be a detrimental moron. Good evening.”

“Well it looks like this droid won a 1,000 credit bet seeing that you’ve returned to sounding insane ,One was beginning to think you were going to burst under pressure and continue speaking in your old psyhcopathic matter ..What’s this food chain you speak of ? Do I need to repeat myself in proper language for you to understand ? Perhaps Hutt would be appropriate during this time ..seeing a meat sack like yourself is inncappable of comprehending the basic language of a sane person”

(((Oh and Ignore the repeated second post somehow it got done twice))

”Your words, they sting me so. So very correct you are, that I am unable to grasp the basic concepts of language. Hence the many profitable beyond imagination business ordeals I have recently conducted are based merely upon misunderstandings and loopholes. The fact that I remain where I am in the galaxy a mere fluke due to my inability to grasp language!”

”In case the above wasn’t obvious, I was being rather sarcastic. I do hope the ‘sane’ portion of the galaxy knows what that word means. Good evening.”

      • April 15, 2013 at 6:42 PM

Yeah, I understand what “sarcasm” means, thanks. There’s really no need to be so patronizing about it.

By the way, if you’d like to make some kind of point about how allegedly proficient you are with language, you might want to invest some time in trying to come off less bumbling when you attempt its use. For example, a business “ordeal,” would be a protracted, painful, or horrific business experience, which would imply that you are completely inept in exploiting misunderstandings and loopholes for your own gain, and instead fell victim to them.

Secondly, the structure of the next sentence:

        Sihivus Verne :
The fact that I remain where I am in the galaxy a mere fluke due to my inability to grasp language!

This completely lacks in any comprehensive use of a verb, (“that I remain” compartmentalizes “remain” so that it cannot function as the sentence’s operative verb, and “due to my inability” is a preposition, which similarly can’t function as the sentence’s verb). This comes off as a somewhat confusing fragment, like many of the sentences you employ.

”What an astute little thing you are. And in case you took it upon yourself to exaggerate your own understanding of sarcasm, that was it.”

    • April 16, 2013 at 12:57 PM

Actually, I’m beginning to think you don’t even understand the concept of sarcasm. If you did, you wouldn’t try to pass off

      Sihivus Verne :
”So very correct you are, that I am unable to grasp the basic concepts of language.”

      as

      Sihivus Verne :
      ”I was being rather sarcastic.”

and then butcher the very language you imply you grasp the basic concepts of. What’s going on here isn’t “sarcasm,” it’s “irony.”

But it is the best kind of irony: the unintentional kind.

”Sarcasm and irony are often an entwined thing. Regardless, I’m prettier than you. Wondrous evening.”

    Sihivus Verne :
    ”Regardless, I’m prettier than you.”

And people actually take you seriously enough to pay you real money to do a security job?

Man, Morrigan, now Verner, who’d the Hutts staff their HR with? Ewoks?

    Also it’s, “entwined things.”

”If usage in is the singular as it was, I’d be correct, which is a rather common occurrence.. Now, I’ve rather had enough of a debate with an anonymous user uninformed of the very way things work.”

      • April 17, 2013 at 8:13 PM

        Sihivus Verne :
        ”Sarcasm and irony are”

Plural subject and verb. “Thing” is singular. The core is “Sarcasm and irony are things” (unless you’d like to say it should be “Sarcasm and irony are thing”), then you added “often” and “entwined” as an adverb (often-are) and adjective (entwined-things) respectively.

Sorry, though. Clearly if you are arguing that you’re right for saying it should be “Sarcasm and irony are thing,” then you are much more informed of “the very way things work.”

And please, I’ve got all the time in the world. I don’t have an important security job or anything. Keep ’em coming.
