Hutt Night Draws a Large Crowd

September 21, 2013

GNN reporter Daana Kira attended the latest Hutt Night on Nar Shaddaa.

As the Hutts get comfortable taking over the reigns of Nar Shaddaa once again, the council held their periodic public audience known as Hutt Night. This particular night was presided over by Shaka, Dunka, and Nerous the Hutts. Also joining them were their majordomos, allies and other guests including Sparrow of the Apotheosis Corporation and the pirate lord Jes’tula Tor’dok.

Hutt Night begins on Nar Shaddaa.

Nerous the Hutt began the night by announcing that the Sleheyron Mining arm of Sleheyron Industries had formed an operation over Nar Kreeta in the name of the Odominic clan. Those interested to work in the new mining operation can contact representative of Sleheyron or Odominic and negotiate a “reasonable” salary. After the announcement, Sparrow extended her interests to Nerous to have her comapany take part in the operation. They plan to speak on the matter later.

Endering her announcements, Nerous also invited a representative of Nar Shaddaa to attend the next CIS meeting.

Shaka was the next making an announcement, declaring that Uzu, the famous Jawa engineer, has decided to offer his wares at a substantial price decrease. His catalog covers everything from slaves to weapons, and all can be bought through his establishment on the Upper Level of Nar Shaddaa next to the main hospital.

Following the Hutt announcements, Captain Grayson of the Renegade Fleet came forward to update the Hutts. However, everything wasn’t good news as he explained how the Fleet which had served faithfully during the conflict with the Imperious had been reduced to a fraction of its previous size due to the fighting. Also several of the main capital ships have left Nal Hutta space to seek repairs and upgrades leaving the fleet even more vulnerable. Captain Grayson was unsure that the Fleet could protect Hutt interests at the moment. After a discussion amongst the council it was determined that the Renegade Fleet’s numbers would be bolstered by ships from the personal navies of the Odominic and Unobunko Hutt clans and the shipyards of Shaka. With these extra forces under the command of the Renegade Fleet, its size and combat readiness should be back to pre-conflict numbers if not surpassing them. Also financing will be provided to the Renegade Fleet to repair and upgrade their Fleet, as several new vessels are being readied for manufacture.

Hologram of Verne speaking with the council.

Tying up matters after the conflict with the Imperious, the Hutt council decided to make Dunka the Hutt a full member and allowed Sihivius Verne a chance to address them as she had attended by hologram to rekindle a relationship with the Hutts. She spoke to the Hutts respectfully as she brought up the status and ranks of individuals who had been a major part of the power shifts, specifically that of Miss Omar. Her concerns were mainly on the continued operation of the collective and wished Miss Omar to be demoted so she could be a director and even offered Sparrow a position. However, the Hutts didn’t see any value in discussing anything with Miss Verne and its also unclear to the extent of Verne’s power if any on Nar Shaddaa. Though hits possible that things will be made more clear after all the parties involved are able to speak to one another.

Throughout the event, tensions were still apparent especially when Miss Verne took the floor. However, most of the tension revolved around Miss Sparrow, whose status amongst the Hutts and her place on Nar Shaddaa was unclear. She owns vast amounts of the real-estate in the Upper levels of the moon, but political her position is more strained which became apparent when agents and allies of some of the Hutts opened fire on her after she spoke against some of the Hutts policies. She barely escaped with her life with the help of allies in the audience though its presumed she was injured in the firefight. With some of the Hutts more hostile towards her than others, her continued operations maybe a thorn in some of their sides while a boost to others.

“Ms. Sparrow has recovered her health and is back upon her feet. Dunkas uncontrollable welps have not shaken Apotheosis, nor its founding leader. Unobunkos misplaced hostility will not be tolerated by Ms. Sparrow. If Dunka hopes to keep any stability on Nar Shaddaa then he will make sure to keep his trigger happy goons on a tighter leash”

My involvement with real estate on Nar Shadda involves funding to other businesses on the moon. My position is not land ownership based, but politically based. Through an agreement with Omar and Shaka Corp, I was made co-owner of Nar Shaddaa and director of the upper city. I speak not against the policies of Hutts, but against the conduct of Dunka’s goons, and feel them more a detriment to Nar Shaddaa than a benefit. I have a position on Nar Shaddaa, not galactically among the Hutts, and for the best. I wish to be a benefit to Nar Shaddaa; my usefulness to Hutts or assumption to be a “thorn in their sides” is of no matter. Dunka’s decision to betray an ally, and the goons of Dunka and Nerous deciding to take verbal and physical action against myself, stands as a reflection of their lack of respect and integrity that will sever friendly ties between Apotheosis, Unubunko, and Nerous. Such matters will be dealt with accordingly.
