Reporters of the Galactic News

Standoff begins at the meditation area.

A Sith group spread over Jedi academy of Yavin 4. Originally some Jedi and allies were present, but beside a light opposition they withdrew to other facilities. Speaking for the group, Darth Hellius asserted the Serpentine Order had “successfully crushed the Jedi Order on Yavin.” They wanted to recover artifacts that would be their but were held by the Jedi. The only way they saw to get them back was to challenge the Jedi.

A elder Jedi tried to block them because his Jedi vows and having been pained in the past by those Sith. His attempt however failed and he was captured after a fight. Other sith were seen in the library where the artifacts are usually stored. Combats amplified when people came in to rescue the captive near the meditation area, damaging it severely. Under the shock of the attack, one of the Sith was wounded, albeit they were able to leave in order, probably with some of their catches.

Attack over Yavin 4

November 26, 2013 Comments off

A reporter visited Yavin 4 after an attack.

A troop of then unidentified fighters had landed on the Yavin 4 Jedi academy and ran a surprised attack against the local Jedi (KOJ). Later, the Jedi believed they are affiliated to Imperial Remnant.

They refused to negotiate and caused heavy damage to the defenders during the combat. The Jedi were overhelmed and had to cede ground. At the end of the day, the attackers occupied the Jedi Temple. Their objectives are still undisclosed. Several defenders were wounded, including the Grand Master of the Order, Iria Tuqiri.

Until now, the negotiation between both sides failed. Expectingly, the Jedi will regroup their forces, yet spread in the Galaxy. Once done, they may be able to counter attack. More is to come soon.

Reporters of the Galactic News were invited to the opening of the Byss Academy.

Presentation of the Academy

The Byss Academy ran an opening ceremony in the Sith Empire capitale. The crowd sat in the dark lecture hall, while the staff introduced them with the whereabout of the academy. Darth Sar’Rai explained “The Byss Academy is a result of an initiative personally approved and generously funded by our Sith Monarch, Emperor Destius. The Empire, as you can see, have been thriving in our growth and our citizens, prosper in their standard of living in ways never experienced before. Thus, there have been a growing interest in furthering their knowledge beyond what the typical education institution can provide. Initially, the Academy was to be the place where the Empire Citizen as well as those affiliated with his Majesty’s service, namely the Dark Lords of the Sith Order, the Imperial Sith Military and even the Buurenaar Mandalorian clan can enroll. However, Emperor Destius has decided to open the door to beyond those mentioned. Anyone that adhere to the belief of the Dark side can now freely join in to enjoy the benefit. We certainly has the capabilities to accommodate all who hold such an interest.”

Discussions after the opening

With the academy, the Empire wish to open the Dark Side to a wider range of people and not just the Sith. The lectures will cover various matters such as cultures, species, organizations, etc, inviting guest experts. The classes will be free of charge. The students will have no obligation to serve the Empire or the Sith. They will be free to use their acquired knowledge as they want. The inscriptions are yet open.

One of the teacher, Darth Maziel, explained she share the knowledge she gaining during her long experience and training with prophets, marauders and sorcerers and her services to the Empire. Darth Sar’Rai expect the teachers will provide unique knowledge, unable to be learned out of the academy.

After the presentation, the staff discussed more openly with the people. Many in the audience showed interest to the academy’s upcoming teachings.

Several Announcements at Hutt Night

November 17, 2013 Comments off

GNN Reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide attended the latest Hutt Night.

Black Hole Casino, Nar Shaddaa: Once again a sizable crowd attended the latest public audience given by the Hutt Council known as Hutt Night. In attendance were Shaka, Oobajudda, and Apex the Hutts. Sihivus Verne as well as Hutt staff such as Shaka’s majordomo Morrigan, and head of Hutt security, Jay, were in attendance.

Several Announcements being made at Hutt Night.

Starting out the night was a discussion between the Hutts as to their current business transactions. The council seemed please with their individual profits and Oobajudda gave a summary of his current business ventures. Dabbling in several sectors his most profitable are in the spice, chemical, and drink industries. Not only providing medicines to the medical sector, but his industries also compounds custom chemicals for several purposes, including recreation. With this expertise his family also owns a profitable winery, whose products are sold galaxy-wide.

Shaka also told of his recent ventures into the geological sectors and offered the other Hutts a partnership to begin mining for different resources in their territories. The others seem to agree and this may open up a wealth of jobs in those areas. Morrigan was tasked to draft the contract of any finds.

Also in the beginning stages were talks amongst the Hutts and Miss Verne about the formation of galactic events such as the Great Hunt. As Miss Verne is head of the bounty hunter guild, its very likely that another Great Hunt will take place and announcements should come as soon as the event is set.

Oobajudda also announced his attentions to start trying to unite Hutt clans across the galaxy to form a larger and more powerful Hutt Empire. Several members of the audience and the Hutt Council were doubtful that such an arrangement could be made, with the independent culture of the Hutts and their tactics to expand profits at the loss of their fellow Hutts. However, Oobajudda didn’t seemed swayed by the nay-sayers and only time will tell if his efforts bear any fruit.

Next to come before the council was Jay who wished to talk on some security matters. His first request was to clarify the standing of the press at the Hutt Night event, since Tiro the Hutt had made announcements at previous gatherings that the press should be barred. Shaka the Hutt stated that since he owned the casino and wished for the press to attend they would be allowed. If other Hutts disagreed they would have to take it up with the entire council to decide on the matter. However, he cautioned the press about what to report on as certain elements may not take kindly for their business to be aired.

Secondly Jay made the announcement that the Nar Shaddaa Security facilities were almost complete and that announcements to recruit additional security personnel are being sent out. There are several openings and those that are interested should contact Jay, Morrigan or another security personnel to begin the application process.

And with that last announcement, Hutt Night came to an end.

Largest Gathering of Hutts in Hutt Night History

November 11, 2013 Comments off

GNN reporter Daana Kira attended the latest Hutt Night.

Black Hole Casino, Nar Shaddaa: A large gathering of Hutts descended upon the casino’s stage to hear from the public on possible business ventures. Most likely the largest group of Hutts assembled, the gathering included Tiro, Jaco, Nerous, Azalus, Slama, and Magus the Hutts, Several other unidentified Hutts were also present. Also attending were Sihivus Verne, Jay who is acting head of security, and several majordomo’s such as Morrigan.

With so many Hutts in attendance, it was inevitable that disagreements should arise, especially when it was unclear the actual status and their position on the council. Furthermore, several of the Hutts were either knew or had been absent for quite some time and their knowledge of the happenings on Nar Shaddaa and amongst the Hutt Council were limited. This night saw disagreements over the status of the press at the public event, the status of who was providing security, the status of some of the staff, and the status of the Hutts themselves. Most of the disagreements haven’t been resolved and hopefully other elder members of the Council will help clear the confusion when they return. The night however was free of violence, probably due to the large amounts of food being provided.

Large gathering of Hutts at Hutt Night.

In the midst of the disagreements, at least three propositions were brought before the Hutts. First to speak was Lynu, though her speech was mainly for Miss Verne. She wished for Verne’s cooperation in confronting a special partner of the Imperius’ leader who was being accused of harming the consort of Lynu. Verne agreed to speak to the Chiss on the matter and a meeting was set for a later time.

Following Lynu, a Twi’lek took to the stage requesting an audience from Issulla the Hutt. The matter was most likely over a job position and Nerous the Hutt agreed to set up the meeting.

Next to speak was Sparrow of the Apotheosis Corporation. First she told Magus the Hutt she had a shipment ready for him. Secondly she petitioned that Azalus the Hutt be added to the Council so her work with the Hutts would work smoother and she would have a direct contact with someone who knew her business. Nerous invited Azalus though his position may not be finalized until a vote by the Council.

Finally, Sparrow also spoke about a recent bounty she placed on the pirate lord, Jes’tula Tor’dok. Sparrow stated she had been offered three million credits to capture the well-known pirate but knew the Hutts had also planted a bounty on him and she wished to know their intentions on a price. She was told the Hutts would pay 4 million for his head and that seems to be the highest bid so far.

Finishing out the night was a proposition by Slama the Hutt to obtain more goods through Sparrow and to meet with her on Bakura soon. And with that the night came to an end.”
