A key to the colour symbols used by the astrogator would be most helpful for all parties as some of the coloured areas are less understood outside of already being an individual on each planet with a reputation based on trust or fear as the case may be for the individual. One article of the Galactic Republic states darkside users as “Dangerous Non-Citizens” while on other worlds the individual is accorded the respect that they show to local laws and due to the Republic legislation lightside users and their allies are subject to arrest on grounds closer to criminal mischief. Unfortunately despite the high ideals of Liberty the reality for any traveller is that one has the right to free speech so long as one freely speaks in accord with the views of the planetary government’s official positions.

It’s not as easy as it looks like. Here what is bluish is Jedi/Republic what is reddish Sith. But it’s hard to track between the places owned by a faction, allied, claimed or disputed. The places in italic are not reachable but have a presence strong enough to be marked. I’ll like to be more accurate, and maybe I’ll be able to do it with time and experience.

(( has a better, more in depth Galactic Map.

Thank you for the encouragement. if it’s the map I’m thinking about, it’s spoiled by the the “territory colouring”; It was never roleplayed and it’s inaccurate how people travel in the Star Wars Galaxy.

(( Could you add a key for the colors as well as a list of what factions occupy each sim or which faction controls it eventually, please? ))

((Also forgot the Dark Government Daana, the Dark Government controls Eclipse and Endor, Eclipse is still a sim, just going through drastic major re-model)

      (( Salizar’s group DOR controls Endor ))

((No Sal’s group does not control Endor anymore, they lost it, I removed them from it as i am paying the bill for Endor now, i do not want any Sith Empire members on it, they won’t let me be on thier sims, they ain’t gonna be on mine))

(( They won’t let you be on their sims because you keep slandering them and their leaders IC as well as OOC to an extent, bud. Whole reason Marell isn’t in the Sith Empire anymore is because he wouldn’t accept Novo as emperor. ))

We can not reporting anything on the ownership of a world which has not a strong evidence, either from the community or the sim management. Has the Endor’s moon owner contact us or write up the ownership background on the rule or the sim description, or would your group hang out regularly on this sim, we’ll report it as is.

((Ok Daana, I’ll have the Landlord contact you))

The ownership of Endor changes so much, I wouldn’t bother marking it.

(( Is it possible to get sections of space colored? Like New Republic, Hutt Space, Sith Empire, Neutral/Self-Governed, Other Alliances/Empires?

    • January 3, 2012 at 3:58 AM

It’s not. It’s uneasy to know what is affiliated to what and what sort of agreement bind systems together. Colouring the space (out of the planets represented in game) will also lead to frivolous claims. Also… it’s made from a Google Document which doesn’t support colouring.

I found this one on, but it seems a little confusing. While it lists all the planets, it doesn’t really show who controls what. I think the most accurate in-game one I’ve seen was the one in the clone base in the Bakura parcel.

You can note on this map, the Republic aligned Systems are blueish and the Sith aligned ones are redish 🙂

The kind of issue we have for colouring: Was Lehon (Royal) part of the Sith Empire or not? Nar Shaddaa, Bespin, Korriban, Zonama Sekot were part of the CIS, it’s not played (much) any more, but they never gave up the treaty formally. Some planets go and forth from the Republic, we’re not always notified in time. What would happen to the NTF or PGA space when they faded out? Colouring space sections with always changing sims is much more work. It’s also subject to unverifiable claims and counter claims, based on RP played age ago without control or possible opposition (typically “I set up a base on this planet one year ago and another on that planet two years ago; even if they closed, their spaces remain under my faction’s control”). I suspect upcoming arguments like “You painted for this faction more space than for mine, you’re biased and anti-my faction” and I don’t want to deal with them 🙂

I prefer people imagine the free space as they want it.

It’s probably been said before, but this map needs a legend. Right now, as great a map as it is, it just looks like a bunch of dots on a star wars galaxy map. There needs to be context for what those dots mean. What do the different colours of the outer ring of those dots mean? What does the solid center colour mean? If you don’t want to change the map file, you can simply create a new file in Photoshop and post it here as a separate legend for reference. Anyone not already knee-deep in SWRP, or coming back from a hiatus, isn’t going to know what any of this means.
