Intrigue and Trade Tactics at Hutt Night

Reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide attended a heavily crowded public audience given by the Hutt council on Nar Shaddaa. Several council members were present as well as several guests came before the Hutts during this periodic event.

Nar Shaddaa: Another crowded on night, as persons from around the galaxy came before the Hutt council to offer business opportunities, collect on contracts, make announcements, and give the news from around Hutt space. This night was overseen by the majordomo of Darmutta the Hutt, Tanya Kyrie. Present from the Hutt council were Darmutta, Wonka, Belutric, and Shaka the Hutts.

Surprisingly the first guest to come before the Hutts, was the majordomo of Tiro the Hutt, mandalorian Dhaval Cervantes. Tiro had once been a member of the Hutt Council, but left after the incident with Grancha the Hutt, retreating to his palace on Mos Entha, Tatooine. After Dhaval gave a speech that his employer would like to mend his relationships with the council, the other Hutts were pleased and welcomed Tiro back stating that any Hutt, especially one promoting profit, is welcome amongst them. Even though Tiro had made disparaging remarks towards the council in the past, the council seemed alright with having him back in their midsts, and that the council had never been at war with Tiro, only with Grancha. Dhaval stated he would have Tiro come to the next Hutt audience where he could speak with the council personally. Tanya translated for the people that if Tiro was sincere his seat was still his on the council.

Sihivus Verne, Imperious leader

Next, Sihivus Verne came before the Hutts to correct a misunderstanding. Before it had been told to the council that she was solely trading with Tiro the Hutt. However, she wanted to correct this mistake, stating that yes she had entered into trade negotiations with Tiro, but had made no remarks or contracts to not trade with the other Hutts. The Council was very pleased to here this and Shaka extended her welcome to Verne stating she would soon be visiting Ord Mantell. Sihivus stated that the Hutts are always welcome and that she was glad to correct the confusion.

Curiously the next one to come before the Council was Baby Girl, who recently has taken a number of new positions in addition to being Tanya’s lead pilot and a favorite podracer as well Ms. Galaxy contender. She’s opening a new establishment across from Secura Vida, the slaver establishment, known as the “Blind Spot Lounge”. Her establishment will be a pleasant place for people to unwind and will offer the usual drinks and recreational drugs found elsewhere though will have unique house concoctions combining the two. The Council wished her luck in her endeavour.

Chelsea

With a much more somber and serious mission, Chelsea was next up to come before the Hutts. Holding in her hands a pair of Lekku, she proudly proclaimed the assembly that she had obtained them from the Jedi Tyrdo, a known troublemaker for the Hutts. The Hutts were extremely surprised to hear of the demise of Tydro, but were pleased. The Lekku will be frozen so that G’karr  the Hutt, who was not present, would have a chance to look at them. Chelsea was also well rewarded by the council and a thanks was given to her.

Zach Rodchester

Also surprisingly, Tython governor candidate, Zack Rochester, came before the Hutts making good on his claim that he would involve the Hutts more in Tython business and help change their reputation with the Republic. Furthermore, he stated that Shaka would be named the CEO of the new Tython Mining Company upon his election and extended his welcome to the other Hutts to Tython. Continuing the good news for the Hutts, they were even more pelased and wished Mr. Rochester the best.

Tishia Rinai

On an even more economic note, the Hutts also discussed a recent trade agreement with Zonama Sekot. Tishia Rinai acting on behalf of the Zonama magister, Salene Lusch came to here the councils say on the agreement. After reviewing the document that Mooga the Hutt had negotiated with Mrs. Lusch, the council came to an unanimous vote that it would be accepted.

A personal representative would be dispatched to Zonama Sekot, possibly Tanya herself, to finalize the agreement with Mrs. Lusch’s signature. Miss Rinai extended an invitation to all the Hutts to come to her planet for a visit and relax in the heavily tropical environment. GNN will of course obtain the points made in the agreement and what each side will receive.

Admiral Vice

Next Admiral Vice was brought before the council for him to give his account of what had transpired over the space of Tython recently when an incident between several factions had occurred on the surface. Admiral Vice, who leads the Hutt’s naval fleet, stated that there ships had taken orbit around Tython to offer aid to that world when an unidentified, who appears to have followed the fleet’s movement, came out of hyperdrive and began firing upon the lead ship, the Sovereign.

However, because of poor naval tactics on the attacking ship, it only caused minor damage even though it had been outfitted with heavy weaponry. With the overwhelming combined effort of the Hutt and Republic forces the attacking ship had no choice but to flee. Even though as of now the attacker is unknown, the Hutts were pleased by the tactical expertise of the Admiral and the function’s of their fleet.

Shade announcing the Fight Night

Last up, head of security, Shade, made an announcement to the audience of the weekly scheduled Fight Night, taking place following the Hutt’s audience. Darmutta the Hutt offered the services of the main Nar Shaddaa arena for the event to be able to hold all the fighters and spectators.

Shade was pleased to accept, and stated that several new types of fights were going to be introduced such as all out battle royal for the one of this night. The audience seemed excited by the event bringing the Hutt night to an end.

Governor Debate Interrupted by Terrorist Attack on Tython

As the debate for the upcoming governor election of Tython was about to progress several explosions went off. Reporter Rakiko Lowtide went to investigate the aftermath.

Tython: The well publicized governor debate was to occur last night between candidates Zach Rodchestor and Ryan Adams. Several high-profile persons came from across the Galaxy to watch the debates, including dignitaries from Nar Shaddaa, Yavin IV, Coruscant as well as others regions. Also present were most of the Tython political body as well as the local Jedi order, the NJO. Security was at its highest that it had been for a long time, because of the recent threats and actual bombings occurring on this Republic world. However, as the crowd gathered to wait on the candidates, even the best security measures can have holes in its armour.

Senator Nasaji Oba accompanied by Jedi, Anubis Deconcroix gave their eyewitness testimony as to the events that occurred as well as to the quick investigation that followed. They had been waiting for the debate to begin when several large explosions went off at several points around the gathered crowd. As of now no reports of deaths have been released but several were injured including the Senator herself, but with minor wounds. Luckily the NJO and Tython authorities were able to keep the situation from falling into further chaos, and the crowd was finally dispersed safely and the fires contained. The candidates who hadn’t arrived yet were also taken to safety.

As information began pouring in, the Tython investigators were quick to piece together what had transpired and how the security systems had failed. One of the security guards, name withheld to protect his family, had been forced into allowing two individuals access to the area. His family had been threatened and he had complied to their demands. Currently the guard and his family are at a safe location. The two individuals, disguised as Tython workers, then proceeded to plant explosives around the area and were then able to flee, though witnesses and cameras were able to capture their appearances.

Two female Zabraks, both  early to mid twenties are now the two prime suspects related to the bombing. One was described as tan skinned with several black facial tattoos, the other tan to reddish coloring. Their exact identities if known haven’t been released, though they aren’t known to be from the area. The Republic and Tython forces would be appreciated for any information leading to their true identities or capture.As of now the exact reasons for the bombing are unknown. However, Senator Oba suggested it was to disrupt the election process, as a Tython without a governor is a weak Tython. She believes that several enemies of the Republic and/or Tython maybe behind the bombings so as to disrupt Tython enough for it to be weak against a full attack and stated that terrorist attacks are the weapons of the weak not the strong. As of now, she along with other Republic personnel are discussing changes to the security of the system to make sure these types of attacks do not occur again. Also the candidates will not make any more public appearances before the elections, rather they will be releasing press reports outlining their platforms and opinions.

**Breaking News**

Martial Law has been declared on Tython by the Republic Supreme Chancellor. Persons not of or associated the GAR, the Jedi, or the NRGF are subject to searches which extends to their ships. Furthermore, all visiting unknown ships will have tractor beams locked on them before being brought down for a controlled landing. This is to ensure the safety of the citizens of Tython.
