Byss War spills over to Ruusan

November 3, 2010 3 comments

While en-rout to the Byss system for another matter, reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide, received a message from Byss to discuss a recent conflict which had erupted on Ruusan. To discuss a misunderstanding, Byss had dispatched a force of Sith and Royal Guard to Ruusan to speak to the New Order of the Jedi (NOJ) about a prisoner. While there, the Galactic coalition consisting of  Tetan forces, Mandalorians, and Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) troopers engaged the Sith. From the Sith accounts the battle was decisively won, with the defeat of the Mandalorian, but the full extent of the battle hasn’t been verified with Coalition forces at this time.

Byss Force re-grouping after the Battle on Ruusan

As a reporter, you always have to be ready for a story at anytime. One such story recently fell to our feet. While on a routine trip to the Byss system, Galactic News was contact to come cover a press release. Upon landing, a large force of Imperials were gathered along with allies and observers. General NC-304 along with Darth Aran escorted us to the cantina aboard The Ravager to discuss recent happenings.

Earlier a small crew of the Sith travelled to Ruusan to conduct a routine maintenance of their outpost there. While there, a larger group of Mandalorians from the Kata Clan and Jedi from the New Order of the Jedi (NOJ)  engaged them, forcing the Sith to withdraw while taking one as prisoner. Upon return to Byss, the Byss Command sent a larger force to Ruusan to pick up their imprisoned comrade and to smooth out the misunderstandings with the NOJ. While making amends with the NOJ, the Galactic Coalition made up of Tetans, GAR troopers and Mandalorians forces attacked the Byss envoy. The Sith retaliated and soon an all out battle erupted across the Ruusan landscape. However the NOJ stayed neutral in the conflict, from all accounts and the Sith engaged the Coalition forces directly. The battle ended with an apparent victory for Sith forces who regroup back at Byss to count losses and determine the extent of the battle. No prisoners were taken and from all reports it seemed Coalition forces were able to evacuated their fallen and injured.

Darth Aran explaining the Battle on Ruusan

The Dark Force of the Sith General NC-304 also provided his own take on the battle, stating that his son was able to defeat the Mandalorian leader, the  Mandalore Niv Dralshy’a and that despite her bravery in battle, her and her forces continue to fall at the hands af the Sith Empire. Claiming to be a former Mandalorian of the Syh’tu Clan, the general had this to say to other Mandalorians “I… question Niv’s leadership as Mandalore and urge all brothers to do the same. She has continuously led the Mandalorians into death traps and has been the bane of their existence. Her poor leadership only promises the death of the mandalorian race. I reach to them, not as the enemy they so much hate, but as a brother. Please, seek it in yourselves. A new Mandalore must lead if the mandalorians are to survive.” Darth Aran also reiterated that “Niv needs to be replaced or removed as she puts her people in harm’s way despite heeded warning .” and also that Byssian forces had won this battle decisively, but for now could not provide exact numbers other than the Sith imperial forces very light casualties with most being just minor injuries.

As of now several questions are still left un-answered such as the extent of Coalition casualties and where they plan to re-group, the nature and extent of the Mandalore’s injuries, NOJ’s response of a battle on their home planet, and why Galactic Dominion forces had been launched to Ruusan to observe the battle. As ever, the Galactic News Network will keep these stories covered, bring you the latest
