Largest Gathering of Hutts in Hutt Night History

November 11, 2013 Comments off

GNN reporter Daana Kira attended the latest Hutt Night.

Black Hole Casino, Nar Shaddaa: A large gathering of Hutts descended upon the casino’s stage to hear from the public on possible business ventures. Most likely the largest group of Hutts assembled, the gathering included Tiro, Jaco, Nerous, Azalus, Slama, and Magus the Hutts, Several other unidentified Hutts were also present. Also attending were Sihivus Verne, Jay who is acting head of security, and several majordomo’s such as Morrigan.

With so many Hutts in attendance, it was inevitable that disagreements should arise, especially when it was unclear the actual status and their position on the council. Furthermore, several of the Hutts were either knew or had been absent for quite some time and their knowledge of the happenings on Nar Shaddaa and amongst the Hutt Council were limited. This night saw disagreements over the status of the press at the public event, the status of who was providing security, the status of some of the staff, and the status of the Hutts themselves. Most of the disagreements haven’t been resolved and hopefully other elder members of the Council will help clear the confusion when they return. The night however was free of violence, probably due to the large amounts of food being provided.

Large gathering of Hutts at Hutt Night.

In the midst of the disagreements, at least three propositions were brought before the Hutts. First to speak was Lynu, though her speech was mainly for Miss Verne. She wished for Verne’s cooperation in confronting a special partner of the Imperius’ leader who was being accused of harming the consort of Lynu. Verne agreed to speak to the Chiss on the matter and a meeting was set for a later time.

Following Lynu, a Twi’lek took to the stage requesting an audience from Issulla the Hutt. The matter was most likely over a job position and Nerous the Hutt agreed to set up the meeting.

Next to speak was Sparrow of the Apotheosis Corporation. First she told Magus the Hutt she had a shipment ready for him. Secondly she petitioned that Azalus the Hutt be added to the Council so her work with the Hutts would work smoother and she would have a direct contact with someone who knew her business. Nerous invited Azalus though his position may not be finalized until a vote by the Council.

Finally, Sparrow also spoke about a recent bounty she placed on the pirate lord, Jes’tula Tor’dok. Sparrow stated she had been offered three million credits to capture the well-known pirate but knew the Hutts had also planted a bounty on him and she wished to know their intentions on a price. She was told the Hutts would pay 4 million for his head and that seems to be the highest bid so far.

Finishing out the night was a proposition by Slama the Hutt to obtain more goods through Sparrow and to meet with her on Bakura soon. And with that the night came to an end.”

X Play Expands into Bakura

January 28, 2013 Comments off

GNN Reporter Daana Kira visited X Play’s new club on Bakura.

Bakura: As the X Play name brand becomes a household name from hosting several high-profile galactic events such as the Galactic Swoop Race, pageants and treasure hunts, they’ve begun to expand their facilities as well.

Their club “Baby Girls” on Nar Shaddaa has become a popular fixture and now they’ve opened the “Baby’s Girl Rocket Down” on Bakura. X Play leader Kaelinn X and another member of the X Play inner circle were on hand to give a tour of their new facility.

Baby Girl’s Rocket Down is Open

Catering to the GAR, the club will of course be open to everyone but several of the themes and ideas have the troopers in mind. Not completely finished yet, the bar is open and some of the larger structures have been moved in such as the full-scale Walker from the Clone Wars era. Miss Kaelinn stated that she created this club as a way to honor the soldiers who have fought in so many wars without ever having the limelight. She stated that it was one of the duties of the entertainer to serve the soldier and this is her first initiative in the matter, honoring the GAR. However X Play is neutral to factions and such establishments for other military units throughout the galaxy are in the works.

Not only has the design and theme of the club been created with the troopers in mind, but several of the unique features such as a soap box to give frustrated or stressed individuals a place to vent have been included. Kaelinn X wants to create a fun relaxing environment for these troopers and others to come to have fun and let loose.

Minx Bade (left) and Kaelinn X (right) pose in front of the ancient GAR walker that’s taken center stage in the club

Bakura itself has several clubs already and X Play enters a highly competitive entertainment market but they believe that they can provide unique entertainment which X Play is known for to create niche. In fact they’ve received friendly overtures from others such as the famous Club 66 owned by Sihivus Verne and Kaelinn hopes they can work on projects with them. For now X Play is focusing on serving the individual and making sure that they receive the highest quality entertainment for their time and money.

On a final note, Kaelinn X stated that X Play is now entering their second stage of providing entertainment and the Galaxy is in for some real treats.

Trial of Captain Sharizar Stormfrost Commenced on Yavin IV

January 27, 2013 13 comments

A local Yavin IV Correspondent filed their report with GNN on the trial of Sharizar Stormfrost.

“As anticipated the now infamous pirate, Captain Sarizar Stormfrost’s trial on Yavin IV begun. The Captain and her crew were caught stealing artifacts from the KOJ archive’s. The Captain and one of her crew were apprehended though the crew member has since escaped from custody. The Captain is also wanted in conjunction with a museum theft that left one employee dead on Velmor. Since her arrest the Captain has confessed to her guilt and to several analysts and those in attendance were surprised that the KOJ went ahead with a full trial to prove her guilt, but better overkill than denying rights.

Captain Stormfrost agreed to have Jedi Atlantis represent her though a man by the name of Daelan Renoh took over the job, why the trial itself was overseen by a panel of three judges including strangely a Bakuran Princess Arcelia Kristan-Seda, and  Medraut. Master Jedi Iria Tuqiri acted as the prosecutor in the case laying out the facts.

Trial of Captain Stormfrost.

Master Tuqiri started out by telling how the incident occurred, with a ship landing near the archives, armed figures exiting, their looting of the archives, and finally their admittance that they were in fact the ones involved in the Velmor robbery. In the following shootout, Captain Stormfrost was taken into custody. Several pieces of evidence were introduced including video footage of the raid and incriminating statements that the Captain made. Curiously the prosecution only asked that the items stolen, which included a crystal and a small dagger,  be returned and monetary compensation be paid to cover the costs of the damage and the care for Captain Stormfrost.

Before the prosecution could provide more evidence, Judge Medraut lashed out at them for not informing the Republic of their prisoner and holding them in a substandard jail rather than in a tax paid Republic facility. He also seemed to be upset that Velmorean authorities were allowed to interview the prisoner. He and Arcelia then began questioning the archivist Zen about what exactly was stolen and what their worths were. To add even more oddness to the proceedings, Arcelia’s brother Prince Caesar interrupted the proceedings to give his sister a kiss and then demanded she return with him back to Bakura. When his demands were stopped by the Jedi, he became belligerent calling the trial invalid. Finally from threats that she would be disowned by the Monarchy, Arcelia gave up her seat.

After that interruption, the Bakurans left and the trial proceeded, curiously with the direct examination of the Jedi who was to act as Stormfrost’s lawyer, Atlantis. Her story matched that of Master Tuqiri. The defense continued with their questions even bringing forth Ayeka Kel who has been in close contact with Velmor and speaking on their behalf  to the stand to try to show bias against her client about being sent back to that system.

Finally the trial came to an end with both sides giving closings. The Jedi gave a short one with most of the evidence backing her while the defense mainly tried to downplay Stormfrost’s involvement without denying it with the main purpose it seems to weaken the case that will occur on Velmor.

In the end the Judge found her guilty and ordered her to return the items or pay their monetary value. This led to a discussion about the value of the artifacts and the apparent breakdown of the defendant due to mostly getting off for her crimes.

In Yavin 4, Reporters of the Galactic News Network met a GAR trooper in patrol.

GAR trooper in patrol

Troopers of the Grand Army (GAR) assure to have won a decisive victory against the Axion Empire. The Grand Army sided with Bakura in the war against the Empire. After a careful planning, they landed an attack on their homeworld of Ando Prime. The attack involved the infantry backed by the marines and eventually was successful. Apparently stunned by this raid, the Axion troops retreated. The Grand Army is now trying to locate them and determine whenever their forces are destroyed or if they would regroup somewhere else in the Galaxy.

Bakura News

January 18, 2013 Comments off

Reporters of Galactic News explored the planet Bakura

Fortress in the snow mountains

Bakura: As a region of the planet was said to put up pirate, smugglers or trading of illegal goods, the Grand Army (GAR) was starting to patrol. The region is remote and reported dangerous, therefore favouring illegal activity. So far the Grand Army is observing the situation. There is actually many armed people there, some of them in uniform and defensive buildings.

Still in Bakura, the kidnapped barkeeper Vizzal was released with the help of Valdus. She had to pay a small ransom for her freedom. She was working to pay the advance made for the ransom. Apparently the kidnapper was wanting to give her as slave to the Hutt against favours. Her kidnapping in Bakura by a then member of the Axion Empire had triggered indignation up to the highest sphere of Bakura and was a reason for the war which was decided.

Axion Empire Prepares for War with Bakura

January 15, 2013 5 comments

GNN Reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide spoke with several individuals on Ando Prime about recent events with Bakura.

Recently the Axion Empire, headquarter on Ando Prime, have completed their first stages of deploying a droid army. A droid by the designation of Reaper has been named General of this army, whose completion may not have come soon enough for the Axion Empire, as war between it and Bakura sounds inevitable.

Axion leadership speaking about their communication breakdowns with Bakura.

Tension has run high between the two factions since a Twi’lek by the name of Vizzal was captured by Imperialists on Bakura. The Axions claimed she had been arrested, though wouldn’t release details as to why or why. Bakura itself was upset since their sovereignty had been invaded and one of their citizens taken; they’ve categorized the event as a kidnapping and the relationship between the two factions has deteriorated since.

Axion leadership stated that Vizzal had been apprehended by a member of the Empire without revealing the reason. They did say though that the operation shouldn’t have been done and the officer was being disciplined. He however left the Empire with his captive in tow and their whereabouts are unknown now. Furthermore, Axion leaderships stated those other members involved in the abduction were acting justly as they were being loyal to the now apparent deserter.

The Axion Empire sent an Ambassador to Bakura who met with the Prince. The meeting was unfruitful and deteriorated in almost violence as talks between the two parties broke down during the discussion of Vizzal. According to the Empire, the Ambassador returned to Ando Prime stating that the Bakurans wanted a war. It seems that the Axion Empire has accepted this as the only recourse. Now military buildup can be seen around Ando Prime and the Imperial assert they’ll be able to face Bakura’s troops, possibly made of the Grand Army (GAR) if they join the conflict.

GNN hopes to speak with the Bakuran royalty and GAR soon about the matter.

Raids from the Axion Empire

January 3, 2013 1 comment

Reporters of Galactic News discussed with witnesses of the Axion Empire attacks

The Axion Empire, a new faction being talked about, would have conducted a few attack in the Galaxy. They were reported in Dantooine against the Jedi, but the reports were confusing. A witness told they were led by Connor Titan, a renegade from the Tetan Empire, bringing several of their comrades with him, they would try to raise when no major faction could oppose to them. Although, the reason of this raid remain unknown.

Valdus from the Tsad Werda

They also struck in Bakura, capturing Vizzal, a Twi’lek working in the Club 66. After a first failed attempt, Vizzal ignored why they would want her. Armed with lightsabers, they eventually managed to get her, even if she was defended by few mandalorians of the clan Tsad Werda. Valdus, officer of this clan, consider them as a “band of criminals” or “dishonorable coward” and doubt they’re really an army even if they mentioned a fleet. He assure he’ll find her kidnapped friend back, even if they are at the Axion stronghold of Ando Prime.

What are the strengths or the motivation of the Axion Empire remains mysterious. By the way, later in the Hutt Night, an emissary of Axion Empire proposed slaves to the Hutt to start business with them.

Jal Shey Force Oder Continues Research in Several Different Technologies

December 28, 2012 2 comments

GNN Reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide met with Kasmiel of the Jal Shey.

Bakura: Kasmiel of the Jal Shey force order spoke with GNN on several of their current research projects. Kasmiel made news before stating that he and his ordered had developed a cure for the “darkside”. Since that time, they haven’t found an applicable use for the extreme procedure but have pioneered less intrusive therapy methods to help those afflicted with the “darkside”. He stated that his order has had a high degree of success on the few patient treated. The cure involves the manipulation of dream patterns to induce positive feelings in the patient, thereby reducing the hold the “darkside” has on them.

Jal Shey facility on Bakura

His order is also researching several other technologies mostly in the medical and agricultural fields. He claims that his order has become efficient in research since they have overcome the need for money or personal gains. Any profits or materials gained from their research are put back into further innovation.

One such device, which will be used in medical field is a Pattern Copier. Based on older technologies it is intended to a copy of a person’s brain patterns, which include memories, thoughts, and personalities. These copies might then be used to give more life to droids, help overcome brain damages a person may fall victim to, or help restore memories or other lost parts of the brain. He foresees a system where a person would come have copies be made, which would then be stored in case the person would need them later. However, Kasmiel was quick to point out safeguards on the device will prevent abuse. For one a person’s copies will be erased on their death.

Similar technologies are also researched by the Jal Shey such as the Bioprinters and Reprinters. Based on old counterfeiting technologies these devises would be used to create limbs  or other organic structures in case of the Bioprinters and food and manufactured parts in case of the Reprinters. Both are based on the idea of being able to rearrange molecular structures so that one type of matter can be refashioned into another.

Again Kasmiel states that both of these technologies would have safeguards and a few material limitations. He however hopes that all of these technologies will be developed in used to solve all the of the Galaxy’s hunger and medical problems and in doing so it would begin the process of the Galaxy having an everlasting peace.

Ha’rangir Still Seeks Contract with the CIS

December 15, 2012 3 comments

GNN reporters Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide spoke with Victoria of the Mandalorian clan Ha’rangir.

Ha’rangir clan mandalorians

Bakura: Victoria of the Mandalorian clan Ha’rangir gave us a few updates of her clan, which is led by Wod Kett. Currently the clan along with several other Mandalorian families are at war with the Revenant Armada but the conflict isn’t intense so far so she was able to be conducting business for herself and her clan during the down time. Victoria herself acts a combat medic for her clan and has recently seen action where she had to patch up a seriously injured ally. But for now she is conducting business throughout the galaxy for her family.

Because of the ongoing war though several of the clan’s business dealings have been strategic to reduce the Revenant’s ability to gain resources. One such publicized maneuver is the clan’s initiative to claim a security contract with the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). The CIS was in the midst of contracting with the Revenant Armada to provide security for ship and certain hyperspace lanes, but the Ha’rangir clan had put their bid in for the security contract as well. The CIS has yet to vote the matter, but individual members have already contracted with the clan for their personal security while other have declined to work with the mandalorians, either because they already work with the Revenant or are choosing other security forces.

How this will play out, and if the Revenant-Mandalorian conflict will spill over into the CIS, only time will tell.
