Queen Raz’iah prepares to come back in Naboo

June 12, 2012 1 comment

Reporters of Galactic News met the Queen Raz’iah in orbit around the planet Naboo.

Queen Raz’iah

The Queen Raz’iah, also known as Wanda, prepares to come back on her planet Naboo. This return might be disputed by other pretenders to the throne. Having ruled under the protection of the Sith Disciples of Ragnos, she claims she was forced to leave them the executive powers. Then she had to follow them after they evacuated the planet following their devastating raid on the City of Theed. While in Taspir III with the Disciples, she managed to form a secret alliance with another organisation, the “Galactic Empire.”

The Empire, which we recently reported their presence in Joralla helped her to leave the Sith control. With this new ally she plans to regain her throne in Naboo. Her return might not be easy, another Queen, Sunnamoon successor of Queen Adala also claims the Throne, justifying an election and supporters, notably in Theed. Queen Raz’iah disregard the other pretenders and is playing down their government efforts to fight the Sith.

Galactic Empire troops

Also she suspects Sith will oppose her return. Not certain of Theed will be safe, she plan to settle her capital soon in Lake Country. She wants the people to know the “real queen of Naboo is back.” Once she will be able to rule again, she will declare the neutrality of Naboo, which would include seceding from the New Republic. The security will be assured by the Galactic Empire which will be granted a base on the planet and will enforce the Naboo laws.

Queen Raz’iah sounds indisposed to share the rulership with the others that she considers pretenders. Hopefully this will not lead to another civil war.

Naboo Queen Adala released

May 25, 2012 3 comments

The governor Otacon of Naboo discussed with Galactic News on the release of the Queen.

Royal Palace Hall

The governor Otacon of Naboo announced the release of the Queen Adala by the Disciples of Ragnos. Adala is currently recovering from her captivity and even more from the disease, an “aggravated form of fever”, having shown itself shortly before her kidnapping. According to the governor, the queen was sick since at least the initial conflict with the Disciples of Ragnos in Naboo, but refused to take medicines to appear “strong.” While her health is improving slowly, her functions are carried out by the governor Otacon and the senator Sunamoon.

The queen was released in Naboo by a commando of the Disciples of Ragnos. According to the governor, they demanded the immediate paying of a ransom or they would executed the queen. The governor had to comply, although it was against a recent ruling of the Galactic Senate; the adjurors did not leave him any other choice.

The governor deplores the Nabooans had to face that crisis and others current ones without support from the Grand Army of the Republic troops, despite the repeated calls and former good contacts. Naboo now considers to review their agreement and rely on Kamino’s clones troopers.

Explanations and New Members of the Republic

May 21, 2012 13 comments

Galactic News reporters managed to attend at the New Republic Galactic Senate session in Corruscant. They were then invited in the Chancellor’s office with some of the senators.

The Galactic Senate of the New Republic had a regular meeting in Coruscant. Galactic News Network was told first, unofficially, that the press would be allowed to cover the session, although once there they were denied without reason given, one of the guard forwarding the subsequent meetings will also remain secret. Through contact in the senate, the media were finally allowed when they were about to leave. The opacity of the Senate’s votes is a recurrent long running issue. Citizens tend to be kept away of the Senate and are seldom informed of the votes. Whichever they are inoffensive points, such as a new member of the Republic, or more harmful ones like a declaration of war from a foreign power, the decision might be classified or simply undisclosed. The reasons of such a secrecy appears to be non debatable and the criterion is not public. A possible cause is the limited rights and powers granted by the constitution to individual senators, leaving an insecure feeling for them to talk about anything. The Constitution itself does not grant their citizens a right to information, also, in case of a war, it might event prohibit their national reporters to interview declared enemies. An incomplete information might misguide the citizens in their choices, even the choice to elect their senator with full knowledge of the facts.

The Senate Session

When the press was admitted in the session, senators talked about a project regarding the media access to be presented in the next session. Being written by the senator Vandergraff with the interest of senator Connell, it might regulate the spread of information. The objective of this bill was not said.

The first point was an application of Kashyyyk to the Senate. The application having been held secret and the press access having been early blocked, it was sadly not possible to cover the preparation to this decision. The few talks observed were only about offering Kashyyyk  military protection. Eventually, Kashhyyyk was accepted as a member. Trandosha, against which the Republic is at war, is itself in the Kashyyyk system. The nature of such a membership might amplify the issues and it would have been interesting to know the circumstances and the expected consequences of this vote.

The second vote was about Kamino’s application. The application was apparently inspired by the Senator Sunnamoon of Naboo. Voices however deplored the way their clones were handled. The Senator Connell of Bengat was passionate that they are handled as slaves, deprived of free-will, and the batches are raised or killed according to commercial interests, which she qualified as a genocide. Furthermore Kaminoan refused her the access to the medical lab, also the clones were paid by an anonymous sponsor, and she believes purchasing citizens would not be ethical. The Senator of Naboo objected the people of Kamino fought for the republic and would have agreed on a monopoly of sales to the Republic worlds. The chancellor Downz clarified that if Kamino was accepted, the clones will become citizens and protected by the constitution, also the kaminoan would review their clone training to leave them free-willed. The Senator of Coruscant deplored these points were not prepared through the republic channels. The senator Avira Eden of Bakura reproached than accepting a worlds for the main benefit to increase its military would disrespect the efforts of the Grand Army of the Republic, which Bakura hosted the headquarters. The application of Kamino eventually was nearly rejected. Instead, the senators voted to open an alliance with Kamino. The guidelines for theses negotiations were not part of the vote but it may be agree a trade monopoly or a defence agreement. Chancellor Downz would be in charge of the talks.

Meeting in the Chancellor office

The session ended here. Then the chancellor, the vice chancellor and few senators agreed on a fair discussion with the media in their office.

The talks were somewhat stormy when sorting out the multiple concealment of information; the Republic dignitaries endorsed them without reserve, while the press claimed they were detrimental even for the citizens of the Republic.

Before this part started, the Kashyyyk senator Pankaja explained his people are breaking their neutrality to combat the ones looking for enslaving others, independently of their species: “It is with that belief that my people wish to join the New Republic; it is the Republic’s duty to protect the freedom and democracy of all, and it is Kashyyyk’s honor to aid in such a noble cause.”

Vice-Chancellor Ta’kara Darkmoon, which was seen dead in Trandosha’s hands explained the one having been killed was her double, named Alena Sornata. She paid homage for her attempt to save innocents and a public ceremony will be held in Bengat for her. The “death” of the Vice-Chancellor as announced by third party witnesses in the same time that the declaration of war but no Republic official ever commented it. They instead kept their citizens uniformed several days along she was still alive while the Chancellor, leader of the army, was known being sick. Such a blow was likely to down the citizen’s morale at the start of the war, but this way to handle the situation was justified to renew the Vice Chancellor’s protection and not endanger her life. The Chancellor Downz refuted the Republic’s people were demoralized, announcing the Dantooine Jedi Enclave (DJE) successfully repealed both the attacks from the Disciples of Ragnos (DoR) and the Death Watch.

Coming back on the closed senate meeting where senators discussed of the entrance of the war, the chancellor clarified it was an emergency meeting where the senators gave him the ability to declare the war to the New Confederacy. The war was then formally declared a few days after. Meanwhile he informed the Ministry of Defence and the staff of the Grand Army. Although, according to our information, part of the military staff was not aware of the situation. Also the New Confederacy would have first declared the war, which would have set the New Republic in state of war even before the declaration. The lack of information about the state of war might have caused the first few victims of war, notably the hostages used by the New Confederacy to lure the Vice Chancellor. The Republic however denied they could have been protected anyway whichever the citizens or the military knew the state of war or not. The absence of announcement was justified by the will to not reveal detailed military plans. Also, the chancellor denied the rumours about inside trading on military stocks were founded.

Aside of this points, the Chancellor addressed the citizens of the Republic telling “I would have [them] do what they have always done, that is to believe and trust in the power of the Galactic Republic to protect them, and we will. We also ask for their support and should war hit their borders, we ask them to calmly follow the evacuation plans that are set up by their local governments.”

On another topic, The chancellor will discuss with Hixal on the possibility of a trial and with the Senator of Yavin 4 about the accusation made against him.

For the first time a chancellor claimed he does “consider the Republic as a democracy.” Also, he admitted, like any intergalactic agency, the Republic have also weaknesses but they want to address them and learn from them for they become new strengths.

The government does notably real steps toward the communication. Let’s hope the citizens are going to have the comprehensive and independent information required to exercise a democratic power.

New Confederacy fight against New Republic

May 16, 2012 25 comments

A reporter of Galactic News Network talked with a dignitary of the New Confederacy about their continuous fight against the Republic worlds.

Trandosha: Since some time ago the New Confederacy and some of their allies keep attacking the republic and those perceived as their allies. According to Angeline Viola from the Black Dawn, member of the Confederacy, the casus belli was the holding in Yavin 4 of a Mandalorian Death Watch, another member organisation, a dozen of days ago. This mandalorian, which they refuse to name invoking religious reasons, was freed after a raid. However he died from the after-effects of a strike alleged from one of the Jedi.

Angeline Viola

Angeline sees in the death of their friend a sign the whole Republic doesn’t want to discuss but prefer the violence. Echoing words from New Republic’s Vice chancellor “violence will be met with violence”, the New Confederacy started several military actions against the Republic. If the precise military objectives are undisclosed, their targets would be the politicians, the Jedi, and the soldiers and such. The civilians and those not involved in the war would be spared.

Amongst this fights, the New Confederacy recently attacked Kamino which they mistook as an ally of the New Republic. However they were not. They are now trying to gain them as their own ally and supported them against the Disciples of Ragnos lately.

The objective is to remove the republic’s control in the Galaxy, notably establish a free circulation. Apparently the commerce of some untold rare resource is a current concern. Angeline Viola evoked a system similar to the former Galactic Empire.

This might however be a distant objective. The New confederacy and their ally claim they are still undefeated and the New Republic troops appear to not have mobilized, but the Republic is a large entity and the New Confederacy mainly present in Trandosha.

Darth Sae’hal II running for Bastion’s Grand Moff elections

May 15, 2012 Comments off

In Coruscant, a reporter of Galactic News learned by accident the Galactic Senate met in secret. Yet another time the Senators did not reveal what they were working on  their electors and instead feeding rumours. However Darth Sae’hal II, from the Disciples of Ragnos was in the city as well, then they talked on his candidacy for Grand Moff of Bastion.

Coruscant: Darth Sae’hal II, Arch lord of the disciples of Ragnos is running for the Grand Moff election in Bastion. He wants to offer to the former Empire Remnant capital the full protection of the “Empire Reborn.” Himself was educated in an imperial family and would like to spread the Imperialism order in the Galaxy. He’s dreaming to combine the Sith training with the Imperial forces and educate the people in both.

Darth Sae’hal II

For now, Bastion has a mutual assistance alliance with the not so far disciples’ home base of Taspir III. Darth Sae’hal expect they would like to be closer to his Empire Reborn regime.

He did not comment the other runner’s programs. For Bastion, he plan to “renovate the rusty world.” At the difference of the traditional Empire values however, he believe the Sith are much superior than the other citizen. Although he considers the Imperial citizen above the other people in the Galaxy. Will he convince them to vote for him? We’ll see that after elections day.

DOR installs in Dynali Sector

May 1, 2012 Comments off

Reporters of Galactic News went in Taspir III to meet the newly installed Disciples of Ragnos.

Taspir 3

Taspir III: After they left Naboo, the Disciples of Ragnos (DOR) relocated in the Dynali sector, notably on the planet Taspir III. This planet’s environment has hostile environmental condition and the life is confined in protected cities. The Sector was formerly part of the Imperial Remnant and the disciples decided to keep the institution core, supporting a council of Moffs, and to reform the “Empire Reborn.” The Disciples enforce order and safety and the liberties should be granted to those obeying the laws of the Moff Council, led by a Grand Moff and himself named by the Arch Lord of the Disciples of Ragnos. The Sith will keep their hierarchy in parallel which eventually should overlap the Moffs.

Darth Sae'hal II and Darth Decessus

Several of the planets in the systems are secured. In their new home world, the Disciples of Ragnos still have Galactic wide ambitions. They want to “restore an old time of tranquility and security for the Sith,” which they call “The Golden age of the Sith.” They are ready to campaign against those trying to hinder their progress.

Pollution on the water surface in Naboo

April 24, 2012 9 comments

Reporters of the Galactic News discussed with personalities in Naboo on their current situation.

Naboo is preparing celebration in the next days for the leave of the Sith from their occupied part of the planet. They might also celebrate their new membership to the Republic. Theed city will also expectingly host one of the races of the Galactic Swoop Cup.

Water is an essential part of Naboo

With the leave of the Sith, the Queen Adala raised the term limit of her mandate to three after having set it to two a dozen of days ago. She explained the initiative came from the people after her “popularity reached immense levels” since she “liberated the people and fought off the invasion.” Her platform which was to fight the Sith in Naboo, now they are left, she works to “make (the people) happy and assure their welfare.”

The current worry is to  pollution on the surface of the water. The source is unknown, but the origin would be Lake Country. The opaque surface is dampening the light in the Gungan underwater city. Analysis are in progress, but they pollution would cause health issues though does not justify a relocation of the people.

DOR leave Naboo

April 18, 2012 11 comments

Reporters of Galactic News visited the Disciples of Ragnos in Lake City, Naboo. Afterward they collected the witnesses after their attack in Theed.

Darth Sae'hal II and Darth Decessus

The Disciples of Ragnos (DoR) left Naboo causing damages to the planet. They were here formerly in Lake City after having restored the throne of the hereditary queen Razia, also know as Wanda, which had to live in hiding while a Galactic Empire faction occupied Naboo’s soil. Few time after, came the Queen Adala in Theed claiming Naboo was a republic planet. She refused the diplomatic way and gathered allies from all of the Galaxy to “liberate” the planet from the Sith

Queen Razia

Each side already claimed their Queen were the target of attack from the other side. Lately the Lake City faction protested against an unprovoked attack led by Theed’s governor along with troopers from the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) and Jedi from Dantooine (DJE). Although they said the attackers were “quickly removed,” the DoR increased the security levels and started to monitor the movements in their controlled area.

The Disciples of Ragnos and the Queen Razia were apparently wanting to stay, even talking about culture and prosperity for their citizens. However, they left.

Lake Country area was devastated and they ran a surprise attack against Theed. After an orbital bombardment, which according to the witnesses caused minor damages, they landed their ground troops and repealed the defenders. They took control of the city, and started to fire in the city. Their objectives were not known although after having caused some damages, they left the City for an unknown destination.

Reporter questioning a Consortium Alliance probe droid in Theed

Sihivus Verne, leader of the Imperious was seen fighting alongside with the Disciples. She was captured by a third party already looking for her and delivered to the authority of Naboo.

The Senator of Theed, Moyet Illyriana Sunamoon, formely Kirkorian, claimed a victory in Theed, minimized the damages in the city and declined the medical assistance offer from the Jensaarai after the battle. Third party witness, including visitors from the Consortium Alliance and the captor of Sihivus Verne, however reported the Disciples of Ragnos defeated the defenders and left by their own before the reinforcement would arrive in Theed.

Their move is still unexplained and the whereabout of the Disciples is unknown. This last event leaves one signed claimant to the head of Naboo, who therefore might restore the civil peace in the planet.

Theed prepares to military conflict

April 17, 2012 2 comments

In the City of Theed, reporters of the Galactic News meet the Queen Adala

In an interview in her palace of Theed, the Queen Adala explained her view on the situation in Naboo, where a another Queen Wanda rules from Lake Country with the support of the Disciples of Ragnos.

Queen Adala in Theed Palace

She claimed that Theed being a republican world, the decision of Wanda to ally with the Sith alienated Wanda’s support and invalidated her legitimacy. She assert Wanda’s life was threatened by the Sith to force them to an alliance. Therefore, she could not remain the Queen due to the republican intrinsic nature of the planet. Queen Adala then said the Gungan tribes gathered and decided to proceed to elections where she was “suggested, requested and elected” as Queen on the platform to remove the Sith from the planet.

According to the Queen, the Gungan needed her to respect an alliance lasting from the old republic where they became subject to the Naboo’s laws. After the election, Adala amended the constitution to limit the queen-ship in the time. She claim to have the whole support of Naboo beside the Lake Country.

The main objective of her Queenship is now to remove the Sith of the Disciples of Ragnos which she said invaded her planet and the “unlawful” Queen Wanda. For this purpose, she applied Naboo to the New Republic and is certain of the success of her application. She also signed an alliance with the Jedi of Dantooine and is working with the Grand Army of the Republic and the Jedi of Yavin 4. She refuses to cooperate with the Lake Country regime since she believe they are twisted by nature. Multiplying the military alliances to “liberate” her planet, she denies the diplomatic way with the Sith to solve the conflict.

The Disciples of Ragnos disposing on their side a substantial army, an large war may break out at any momment.

Jedi neutralise an artifact from DOR

April 9, 2012 7 comments

Reporters of the Galactic News interviewed and followed the Jedi of Dantooine after their enclave was attacked by the Disciples of Ragnos.

Jedi regrouped on a Hill during the battle in Naboo

Dantooine: The Jedi of the enclave of Dantooine (DJE) managed to destroy a Dark Side artifact from the hands of the Disciples of Ragnos. The existence of that artifact, called the Obelisk of Power, was revealed during the devastating attack the Disciples of Ragnos led against the Enclave few days before. A dying man brought up a datapad with information to seek the obelisk during the assault.

The reason behind the attack are still unclear, maybe the disciples just tried to weaken the Jedi position. In this case, they succeeded since the orbital defense is still under reparation. The Jedi need reinforcement and extra alertness against the intrusions.

Sith preparing for the Shock

The informant about the Obelisk having been wounded on  Korriban, and the datapad referring to that planet, a group of Jedi travelled to this world. They did not find the Obelisk itself, neither their location but they managed to communicate with a Sith spirit. However, few days ago, on Tatooine, the Jedi tracked a ship of the Disciples of Ragnos exploring a Krayth Dragon Graveyard. They found out about the Obelisk and even had managed to locate it in Tatooine. The Jedi tried to prevent they bring it with them but were defeated in their attempt. The Disciples left with the artifact, supposedly to Naboo. The Obelisk dates from the time of Marka Ragnos and may have interested the disciple as a relic. The Jedi felt the presence of the Dark Side of the Force surrounding the artifact and suspected they wanted to release its power for their advantage. Allied with the Galactic Liberation Alliance, the Jedi of Dantooine decided to run a large scale operation in the Lake Country of Naboo, the home world of the Disciples of Ragnos.

Jedi storming in the Fortress

After they jumped to the system, they met the Orbital defence of the Sith, several fighters tried to repeal the Jedi forces but failed to prevent a landing. On the ground, the Jedi attacked the Sith and their allies in the city and forced them to withdraw to their fortress. The Jedi took control of the small city and explored, either to search trace of remaining defences or the Obelisk itself, but these efforts were fruitless. Meanwhile from the middle of the citadel, a large purple beam raised to the sky. Believing the Sith were trying to activate the Obelisk, the Jedi weakened the fortress defence with mortars and boarded to their drop ships again. They landed in the square welcomed by a volley of grenades from the defenders but managed to enter in the building and secure the room with the Obelisk. There the Jedi brought down its barrier and destroyed it in a burst of flames.

The real power of this Obelisk of Power may remain a mystery. The campaign in Naboo shows even when weakened, the Jedi are able to project their force and strike their enemies behind their lines.
